How good is Stellan Skarsgård? If the man has ever had a poor performance then I haven’t seen it.

Wow! What a finale!

After the incredible first two episodes I felt like episodes 3 & 4 dropped off a bit, but this final episode was about as perfect as could be. What an excellent show, with great performances. When given solid source material, Jared Harris never disappoints.

I have worked with/in nuclear plants for coming up on 10 years now. I have seen/read a lot of Operating Experience.

This episode should be shown in every systems class when describing the Chernobyl disaster.

It was the best and most detailed OE I've ever seen on the topic.

Great episode. Very well done series. Crazy how the Soviets death total for the accidents only 31.

I'm glad they showed the more realistic death toll at the end.

That was a really good series. I liked the technical explanation at the trial. Yeah, Dyatlov was an extreme douche nozzle, but the system was set up to fail.

what a way to not only round out this series, but to release it on the heels of GOT ending, impeccable timing by HBO.

this series has been remarkably entertaining, haunting, and rewatchable.

i envy those who have yet to watch it, but are waiting to binge through all 5 episodes.

I've seen all the episodes first run on each Monday night.
I went back and rewatched episode 1. I appreciate it even more.

**Spoilers***
(Somewhat)

Who recalls now the opening scene of the miniseries episode 1 is of Legasov making tape recordings, dropping them off, and then his hanging of himself?

Seems the point went over the whole thead’s head.

We got your point. It was just a shitty one, so we ignored it.

Just finished and incredibly fantastic. Makes that abortion of a game of thrones finale look like finger painting next to a Van Gough. Script, cast, story, acting all top quality. Makes me mad at D&D even more for being lazy pieces of shite scampering off to do their little Star Wars movie., instead of putting together a coherent story.

It’s amazing that the first thing a 5 episode show based on true events conjures up is hate for an 8 season fantasy show’s ending.

This story was “coherent” because it actually happened. Nobody really knows how a dragon would react to its human mothers death.

Such a well done show.

I was expecting more of a "denouement" in the last episode but it was the best of the bunch. Absolutely gripping to see the real players at the end.

I'm pretty sure it would burn furniture.

I hope this show raises the bar again, we need more of this.

It was in my mind the entire series.

Plus, Harris hangs himself in a lot of shows.

Here’s my groupthink opinion though. Great series! Fantastic writing! Better than GoT ending!

It's not group-think. It was just a well formed show, from the casting to the pacing to the technical details.

“Every lie we tell incurs a debt to the truth. Sooner or later, that debt is paid.”

Such a great line. I’m not sure if it’s original to the show or not, but that line and that part of his testimony was very well delivered.

Same.

I was very nervous initially about how HBO would portray the actual physics of everything. Nuclear power in general is such a foreign concept to most people. But, they absolutely nailed it.

On a side note, were you a navy nuke? I think my power school/NPTU class number was 0404. It’s been a long time though

It is great but remember Band of Brothers. The fact this and BoB are 1a &1b though shows how great this was.
