Why do it again?

Everybody keeps asking this. The last movie was 35 years ago and this is a series. It's not like they are remaking the movie or remaking something from 10 years ago, The story is based on a novel and they can add in new material that the movies left out.

They just did something similar with Presumed Innocent and had success with it.

Nick Nolte better than Gregory Peck? Don't read that very often.

There are some brief moments where Nolte can be the greatest actor of his generation. And then there’s moments where he’s Nick Nolte

I know it’s not cool to say, but Prince of Tides is an amazingly underrated role.

I know he won a GG for it but he pours himself into that one. Same as Williams in The Fisher King.

Sure they were recognized, but underrated. There was a sucky time in the late 80s and early 90s that buried some good performances.

Whew, second episode was quite a bit worse than the first.

Going with the 50's and 60's thriller scene cuts and soundtrack/score is a really odd choice that just doesn't fit when you are in a modern setting.

Also, just weird that two attorneys with a nice house and obviously have money only have one vehicle and it's a 10 year old Hyundai Sante Fe. I don't know why that bothers me

Scorcese used the OG score for his remake, and it was awesome

The score does half the lifting in the movie and the series. It’s basically its own character.

Can't believe it took till page 4 to see something actually about the show.

But we all agree it's awful, right?

Glad I don't have apple tv because Bardem, Adams and Wilson have never done anything i didn't like. Hate to see that cast wasted.

What were they thinking with this show? Adams and Javier Bardem are legitimately terrible. Patrick Wilson just makes shocked face in whatever scene he’s in.

Agreed can't believe this cast is doing something so bad. I think Barden is legitimately scary, but it's just every single TV cliche in every episode. I don't know the story so I'll probably keep watching to find out the ending as I don't have a ton of shows right now, but it's very corny.

Amy Adams isn't up to the task. The bad southern accent doesn't help.

I'm re-thinking her whole body of work. She's just bad.

Love the indirect callbacks...the ice cream on the cheek, the thumb in the mouth, and then the Juliette Lewis reveal...all in episode 3.

I tapped out after 2 episodes. Really disappointing. What a waste of a good cast. The first episode with the chick shooting herself twice in the face/head was disgusting, disturbing, and unnecessary.

I disagree completely.

I'm halfway through E4 and I very well may check out, which is something I rarely do. This isn't very good IMO.

I agree. If they would just do the main story line with Max, it could be ok. But the kids storylines suck, they suck, and once again, it’s just so damn gay. Sick of this crap in every damn show.

Max is creepy AF yet most of the regular town folk are treating him as if he’s acting normal and he’s also some stud that the whole town wants to sleep with. Someone acting that weird would be a repellent except for the prison groupie types.

Generally gay stuff in shows isn’t something that bothers me unless it’s excessive or too gratuitous, but I tend to agree here. You have 2 kids, 1 has to be gay, that seems to be the new norm in shows. 50% of teens are gay, I’m not sure that percentage really holds up.

Anyone still watching this piece of crap? Lol. I watched the last episode out of pure curiosity and it got even worse. I didn’t think that was possible.
