That was prob the worst episode in the series, but I like your take. Maybe it took that to see the turn.

Hard to pin it to a moment. I'd probably have to re-watch looking for the particular moment.

But I think a turning point was when he allowed Jane to die. I think that was probably the first moment when he wasn't just reacting, and he started acting like he had the right to play God with people's lives.

But honestly, I probably never really "turned" on him.

From the very start. Good show but I never rooted for him

This, nearly every character on the show was reprehensible from early in the show

First watch it was really really late. 2nd viewing you notice how much of a piece of shite he is to Jesse almost from the jump. He really is a shitty person.

Skylar is vindicated. You baws who dm’ed her death threats irl should apologize.

Great show, and Walt is a great character, but I never rooted for him. I always wanted the brother in law to connect the dots and arrest him. Be careful what you wish for.

This.

I haven’t watched all of it and I love a good handy, but that half hearted handy earned my compassion.

He is one of my favorite characters ever. But I never rooted for him in the sense that I wanted him to get caught or deal with some kind of punishment for all the mess he caused. The show was filled with horrible people with Walt being one of the most vile

Rooting for Walter is utterly missing the point.

I can empathize with some other anti-heroes like Vic Mackey or Tony Soprano, because even though both deserved what they got and more, they at least had humane qualities at times.

White was just a selfish piece of shite the entire show.

I don't know if I ever actually did since I rooted for him in the finale but letting Jane choke to death on her own vomit almost did it.

Doing a 3rd rewatch and I turn on him almost instantly now. Episode 1 when he confronts the guy making fun of his kid in the clothing store.

what??? that scene was awesome. That's when Walt was still a good guy. What makes the show so great is the slow but constant character development. Its hard for anyone to point to an exact moment when Walt "broke bad", but everyone agrees it happened.

When did you turn on Walt?

When he saw Jane choking on her own puke and he did nothing. He let her die just to remove her influence of Jessie.

Why turn on Walt? He just wanted to do what he loved. That just happened to be drug shite. In the end, he fixed all his shitty actions, admitted it was really for him, and got to fall on his sword.

This right here. A semi-enthusiastic beej would have been a significant upgrade, but the Sopranos already did that. Plus, they must have wanted us to hate Skyler.
