I've read that the script was actually very good. It's how they got Blanchett to join. Apparently Eli Roth just fricked everything up.

Well it’s not like fans of the games are highly anticipating it. Roth isn’t a great director, Avi Arad is involved, almost everyone is miscast, it’s a movie when it should be a series, also it’s PG-13.

Oh also slight spoilers but

Apparently Tiny Tina is just some kidnapped rich girl which is kind of the opposite of what she’s supposed to be

I don’t dislike Hart I just would never cast him as Roland. Not sure whey they didn’t get the OG voice actor for Claptrap, Cate is a fine actor but a complete miscast for someone who’s supposed to be in their 20’s/30’s. Only ones I was somewhat hopeful for were Tina and Moxxi

The VA for claptrap didnt reprise the role for borderlands 3 because he and gearbox had a huge falling out. i assume gearbox retains some control over this things production.

The first 2 games are all time favorites for me.

No one wanted this movie. I knew this is what it would be.

I figured that when I saw the cast. Like I said before, they did a horrible job casting these roles. The games had a decent story line and were pretty fun to play. Sad to see, but I saw it coming. They won't get my money until it comes to streaming services.

Yeah, I saw this and of course they went that angle.

I mean, she is an orphan that more or less gets "adopted" by Roland, or at least she sees him as a father figure, but I knew this wasn't going to work.

This sucks because it will scare producers further away from trying anything different.

Fallout was defnitely a different step and it killed.

I think the direction the Borderlands series has gone isn't great (the new Tiny Tina game was pretty good, I heard), and it sounds like whoever was involved with this movie just completely brushed aside what made these games loved, or had a very surface level understanding of it.

Not only was Bethesda involved with Fallout, almost everyone else involved with the show had a deep love for the games, and it showed.

I was worried when Cate Blanchett, a fricking award winning actress, started off the trailer with a line delivery that had me experiencing flashbacks of "he was in the Amazon with my mom when she was researching spiders just before she died"

This is a show that really would have done better as a series.

Man, Fallout has the blueprint for these people to just print money and they still can't figure it out. Some of the games have awesome stories and worlds that they could literally copy/paste onto a live-action screen and people would eat it up. But no, they're too smart and can do better than well-established franchises with fans out the wazoo.

I've spent close to 1000 hours playing all four of the main games and have no desire to see this. Everything about it is wrong.

I'm pretty sure it was. They filmed it in 2021.

I have never played the games before and that trailer doesn't look that bad.

Will I pay money to see it? Nope.

I might check it out on HBO or something for free if I stumble across it.

The entire cast is 15 years too old as well.

Hollywood just can’t figure this out. No matter how obvious it is to us. I don’t get it.
