Watching the great cinematic masterpiece Con-air and thought this would be a fun discussion.

NCIS new orleans definitely makes the top 5 for the worst category

Best: Band of Brothers "Doc Roe" this actor is English but his Cajun accent is perfect

Best: TV - Nashville "Scarlet" The actress is an Aussie but her Mississippi accent is spot on.

Most of the Doc Hollywood Cast was pretty bad. Forest Gump was pretty bad as well.

Didn’t know the actor for Doc Roe was British. He did great.

I’ve heard dialects from pretty much all over the US. The fakest shite I’ve heard on TV are the upper Midwest people…the “R” is almost like an “L” in real life. You don’t hear that shite on TV. It might just be the old-timers, tho.

I’ve seen people bitching about fake accents in the South, but go spend some easy downtime with Southern people and really listen. The Southern lilt and cadence are evident but a LOT of the coonass, Deep South, and Appalachian dialects would need subtitles for most of our yank brethren.

Mourning Among the Wisterias, S4/E15 of Murder, She Wrote, is set in Savannah. A playwright is struggling with health issues and conniving family and friends.

Linda Purl plays the nephew’s wife.

She had the worst southern accent I’ve ever heard.

hard to top Dawson's accent in Varsity Blues for "worst southern accent"

conversely, all of the accents in Friday Night Lights (movie) were pretty decent.

I literally couldn't watch ConAir. Had to turn it when I heard Nick Cage speak.
