Saw in a documentary where this bridge explosion was ran and rigged by the Spanish army. Well the CO spanish officer overheard all of the Italians going back and forth between each other setting things up for the shot.

The Spaniard thought he heard the spanish for the "go" signal and let'em rip...

Eastwood said that afterwards, leone was cursing to himself with his crew, quickly striding down towards the ex-bridge...

I’ve really become bored with seeing everything explode in movies, like everything is filled with dynamite. Every car crash is an explosion. Action scenes would be more impactful with less all-consuming fireballs covering up everything.

And the explosions themselves would be cooler with more emphasis on the sound and concussive force instead of the fireball.

Never saw Stealth (2005), but this real explosion is in it.

YouTube

I remember reading it was so big they had to alert NASA about it beforehand.

Tora! Tora! Tora!

Maybe not the biggest, but that plane at the beginning went off course and nearly killed some extras and then they got sent back towards the fire/explosions.

It's going to probably easily be Oppenheimer once it debuts.

I think that's from the (bad) special edition of Star Wars that used computer graphics and added a ring. Original looked like this:

There's another version out there, too, but I'm not sure what edition of the movie it's from.

A good size rock flies by that likely would have killed either Eastwood or Wallach had it hit them.

Yes. They had to rebuild the bridge as there were no cameras rolling.

Stealth is one of the worst movies I’ve ever seen. No need to ever watch that pos movie.
