A ponderous, smothering, over-pixelated zeppelin crash of a movie scored by a choir that sounds like it's being drowned in lava.

Pa Kent's death was one of the dumbest in movie history

Just checked in. Got my ticket. Chilling in my truck until 6:30 or so.
You know I should call you a motherfricking dickhead,
and be done with it.
But yeah you right. Opinions are rarely malleable and they are always relative to how ones worldview changes and especially how they look at movies and what they expect a movie to be.
It took a couple years for MoS to really show itself to me and I can see how Snyder utterly half assed it and really fricked up the execution of what Superman is supposed to be. Hell, he barely executed what he really likes and does best too and that's insane visuals and disaster porn that was just so mumbled together and not really cohesive.
All in all, I have low expectations right now with BvS, hoping for the best, probably will get the same result as we saw with MoS.

Freauxen thrives on the hipster, contrarian position on these things. He likes tilting at windmills.
And you can't even tell if he's being passive agressive or really genuine. He's really great at it.

For me, the right to reserve seats and have that lounge chair is worth going there, even if I don't get food.

Snyder= Michael Bay of superhero flicks.

I mean I like both of you as posters, but seriously? Why the attack, no one is else is attacking anyone?
Plus I answered the assessment like 3 times:

Haha. My tone hasn't changed at all. Snyder stinks for Superman. MoS stunk mostly. BvS looks bad. It's a joyless world, etc. I just think the cultural significance of the B and S and the v in between will make people go see the film regardless of how good it is. Just because I pump the box office as something huge, doesn't mean I've warmed to the idea of the movie. If WB doesn't hit a billion, that's a huge mistake. And if they didn't do everything in that power to get there..... However, I now kind of feel bad for Snyder. I mean this is all on him, he's just in over his head. I do like his aesthetic in small doses, and I think it works in certain films, just not Superman movies. And he needs better partners in all of this. He does strike me as a geek who likes making big movies. I dig that. Also, just because I was down on the film didn't mean I didn't want it to succeed. That was NEVER the case, I just assumed given all of the info, that it would resemble MoS, which, to me, would be a failure. I didn't want that, but I read the evidence throughout the BvS production time, not just my wants. It has looked like a big problem from the start. Like I said, I wanted it to be successful, even with a bad Superman, to bring Hal and Barry on screen. Honestly, I was looking more forward to the universe than I was to Batman and Superman, who have enough films. I want the other really interesting characters that we never get to see.
I also just don't think it will be THAT bad, I didn't think that was possible regardless of my personal feelings on the film (which in another thread I mention my personal feelings are inconsequential to the discussion at large). People liked MoS. It was mildly successful. I thought/think this can be a hit regardless of what I feel
But continue the narrative, sure.

Yeah, I stand by every statement I made in that thread, as well as that Superman trilogy I proposed. Haven't worked on it in a while, but I've been thinking about it and how much Snyder, Goyer, and WB fricked it all up.

My showing isn't until 10:45 (got Good Friday off) and got center seats at the Draft House. I hope everyone is shitfaced and ready to heckle. Aside from The Room, Plan 9, and the Jackass movies, I've never sat in a movie where I hoped the audience would start screaming at the screen. I'm honestly really looking forward to this.
And rewatching the Half in the Bag episode where they just destroy Man of Steel and it's damn funny if anyone has some time to kill: LINK
