I've been a staunch defender of the DC films, but there is one area where the Marvel side has a huge advantage: the actors seem to truly enjoy themselves and revel in the roles. As much as I love Affleck as Batman, on publicity tours he looks like he's sitting through a tax audit. Pratt, Evans and the gang are having a great time, it seems.

Not sure if this has been posted

To be fair, Affleck acts like a douche like 90% of the time

And I still like him as Batman, but it seems while he likes being a "Star," he also hates being "a star"

I have no doubt he's out as Batman.

Don't get me wrong, it's a great number, but this is a bigger drop than most had predicted. Especially after the strong week it just had.

That's surprising. It's getting awesome word of mouth and a lot of repeat viewings.

With Deadpool and Solo coming up, it'll be a battle to get to 700 million.

Crazy...

Another milestone for #Marvel this wknd as the #MCU has now just broken the $16B mark in combined global #boxoffice for the 19-film franchise. $6.42B domestic (40%) & $9.59B from intl (60%). That's a stunning avg of $843M per film! Will fly north of $17.5B by end of summer.

I don't think those movies will mess with it. I'm confident most people would still see infinity wars over those of they haven't seen infinity wars yet.

Yeah, I'm just one person, but I have no desire whatsoever to see Deadpool or Solo Will definitely be seeing IW sometime this week(end). My brother and his family are in the same boat.

I think it was a home run for the comic book fans. The way the characters and stories have been woven together would have been a success on a much smaller medium.

But I can tell there are perceived deficiencies in the film for other people. The Black Panther was a really hot commodity and him being "killed" does seem to have hurt the interest of people who were Wakanda fans but not Marvel fans. That damage might be undone with the next film but will hurt the repeat viewings for Infinity War I.

The other group of people who I have anecdotally noticed did not like the film are women who didn't like the number of well-liked characters who died. Those people are not going to be as likely to be repeat viewers either.

Those are issues that did not really haunt TFA or BP and I think it is reasonable to think IW may not have the same legs as more traditionally formulaic hero stories.

That's a good point. I know black people that saw Black Panther 5-6 times. They've yet to see IW because they know black panthers role is minor in this film.

I just got out if Infinity War. Awesome movie and I only have one question, as a non-comic book reader:

What are the options for bringing everyone back and what do the more knowledgeable fans think the course taken will be?

(Let's be honest, they aren't killing off Spider-Man and Black Panther. Those are two promising franchises.)

And TLJ has a 67% drop but you still thought it would get to $750

ETA: and it’s already $73 mill ahead of TLJ which finished at 620. 700 mill for IW is a certainty.

And you thought it wouldn't hit 600, so we were both wrong.

Summer is a bit different than the holiday season. It'll be close, that's all I'm saying.

I was closer!

ETA: but seriously, I think the double viewers won’t be so quick and when school lets out, it’ll see a strong hold.
