The Walking Dead has bigger problems than spinoffs. I’d gladly argue the GOT universe has richer content to pull from for spinoffs.

They're gonna have to drop the price or add a lot more shows if they want to be like netflix and amazon.
its only $5 extra if you use it as an add on

This should be the way of the future, and any company not doing it should be left behind. The model of the weekly tv show has been antiquated by binging.

You're not alone. There are benefits to both.
There are some series that I would rather watch as they produce the episodes and not have to wait for the entire season to be wrapped. Other series I put on a backburner and wait for the entire season to be on my DVR or for it to get to Netflix.

I can't think of a single entity that hasn't seen a decline in quality after coming under the AT&T umbrella.

AT&T will keep a bunch of movies that are better than HBO has, but they won't tell HBO about them unless HBO asks. It's AT&T's formula.

HBO better not lose their creativity.
Netflix puts out a lot of crap and doesn't really know how to end series.

This sounds like a really bad idea across the board.
HBO’s current model is that it is a pay TV channel which does premium programming and rotates which shows are doing new episodes seasonally. Streaming is part of their business but not their central business.
AT&T’s model having them compete with the likes of Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime, etc, makes them a streaming service first and a pay TV channel second.
This is going to mean a drop in the quality of programs shown, as they will be less picky about source material, and would be more prone to high cost flops like Vinyl sinking the channel.
The current push by streaming services to generate boatloads of first run content makes me nervous because I see the potential for a lot of crap being put out there and sinking everyone.

I love how we still have to wait a week between episodes of GoT and what not.
You could always just wait a week between episodes. When it asks if you want to watch the next one, you can say no. Don't punish the rest of us because you have no self-control and douche bag friends that spoil things.

Avoiding spoilers for the final season of GOT should be easy if you don’t have the internet.

Or don’t punish the rest of us for having a life.
You’d probably have to go without the internet completely to avoid GOT spoilers if they were released in bulk.

If I have time to browse the internet. I have time to watch GoT.

Agreed. I also think that a bit of patience/having to wait for things is good for society as a whole though(obviously television pretty minor in grand scheme of things). Too much immediate gratification cheapens experiences.

I think its nice for conversations. People get to talk about what all happened with each other and what they think the show is going to do in the future. Every Monday at my office everybody breaks down the holy shite moments from the previous GoT episode. With Netflix you can't really do that. People just say, "what episode of Ozark are you on?" or "have you seen --- on netflix?"

I wouldn't be shocked if they started creating and releasing series all at once like Netflix
would definitely love this. my tv viewing habits have completely changed over the last several years since netflix. i now wait until every season is over with then binge watch.

100%
It drives me fricking nuts how websites do full season reviews a mere hours after the show releases or have spoilerific write ups before the opening showing of a movie finishes. You can't even go to some sites b/c they give away so much shite in the headlines and pictures that accompany them.
James Gunn recently said he doesn't think spoilers can ruin a good movie but I mean frick... if the main twist, all major plot points, all the characters who die/survive, and even the resolution of the film/tv show are given away before you see it how the hell can it not hurt the viewer's experience?

While true what AMC did to TWD is pretty amazing. They fired the first season show runner and slashed the budget each season. And of course now you have the current dumpster fire that is going on. Not saying it would have been as good at Thrones, nut it could easily be better without AMC's interference

Hope it doesn’t effect GOT.
They have 7 episodes left that they’ve already mostly wrapped. I think we’re okay.

I would like to see HBO do more mini/short series like they are with shows like Sharp Objects. Bring in quality cast (some high profiled).
They could also institute a tighter ship and get rid of the long layoffs in between seasons. Or maybe even do more than 10 episodes per season. Having a big high profile show that gets attention for two and half months a year obviously isn't enough to maintain demand for seasons.
