Predator is in my top 10 fav movies of all time

I think everything about it is perfect

the music
mood/tone
performances
the direction
screenplay

it goes on and on

Predator 2 is entertaining to me and I love how they expanded the mystic a little

AVP sucked, but I love both franchises that I was at least entertained

AVP2 should be forgotten by everyone

I liked Predators. It captured some of that mood from the first film, but I had a hard time buying Brody's character. his voice was laughable at times, kinda like Bale's Batman.

I would love to see more Predator movies set in different time periods.

Basically pick a real life unsolved serial killer case and you could weave the Predator mystic into it

Or pick a historical war

Or show yet another alien species, perhaps similar to humans, being hunted by a predator

endless possibilities

I love Predator, and Predator 2 with Danny Glover, uber-douchey Bill Paxton and still-going-insane Garey Busey was way better than it should've been.

I actually really liked the first AVP. The second one was pretty stupid, but the first one was really entertaining, even if the main chick was laughable as a badass.

Predators wasn't too bad, I just think it would've been much better had someone other than Adrian Brody been the main dude. He was pretty terrible.

But the first one is not only an awesome action movie, but a legit suspense movie as well IMO. It does a great job of building tension throughout and has some FANTASTIC characters and quotes. And the final showdown with Arnold and the Predator is just so damn good.

Hmm, well in that movie they had a shooty arm-laser thing to use but I guess there could be a caveat where some of the predator tech is used by the period warriors to even things up.

I realize I'm alone but Adrian Brody was one of my favorite parts of Predators. He kind of captured that "lethal thinker" thing that makes those types special. Sometimes it's nice to watch a skinny dude with a HUGE nose, kick arse.

SPURLURS I guess........

Also loved that Eric Foreman was the most psychopathic mother fricker in the room.

The only real issue I had with Predators was the over use of lines directly from Predator. I understand they're paying homage but damn they must have used half a dozen lines from the first film.

Also, remember the conversation Brody was having with the girl about how it didn't make sense for the doctor to be there? That they were all killers except for him. Was I the only one that thought.. that makes perfect sense? A bunch of warriors and a doctor to heal their wounds so that they could keep fighting if they weren't killed.

I understand they were trying to set-up that the Predators knew who he really was but no one else did, but even before that reveal it made perfect sense to me.

Holy shite. YESSSSSS!!! I told my wife that when we rented it. I was like, "duh, he's there to even the odds and treat the human warriors." Or help them come up with a poison or something scientific to defeat the aliens. It wasn't until they showed that twinkle in his eye when the Spetz dude was showing him family pics that it dawned on me what he probably was.

Predator is being re-booted. Shane Black (Hawkins)is writing it now.

For real? That actually makes me happy.

It's probably the only time ever that I won't be pissed off for Hollywood messing with perfection (1st Predator.)

Awesome, odds of the big reveal at the end being that the Predator is actually just a drunk Brit in a mask?

I kinda know what you mean. And I understand what they were going for, but he just didn't have "it" to me. That's all. Not saying anything he did was particular bad(other than his voice) but I just couldn't buy him.

There are plenty of examples of a guy being able to play a badass totally against type. Look at Michael Keaton or Heath Ledger for example. People raged when each of them were announced to play their respect parts and they eached nailed them

First of all, frick this. Original is perfect and still holds up.

Secondly, the Predators were an honor based society. They didn't come here to mercilessly kill, they came here to gain honor and prestige. If they were to fight someone in past times, they would lessen there advantage to make it a challenge. Like the one Arnold killed, he dropped all his weapons when Arnold was withouth them as well.

All of this. He sounded stupid as frick, but on top of that, I just didn't buy him as a badass in any capacity...physical, cerebral, or otherwise.

Anyone that doesn't like Predator is not a "guy".

IIRC Adrien was on Punk'd and wasn't too happy about it, I want to say he was ready to throw down for real and definitely did not look like a punk! Does anyone else remember this or am I imagining things?

In Predator 2 at the end they showed human weapons taken as trophies throughout the centuries. It was evident that Predators had been coming to Earth throughout the centuries to battle the top human warriors at different point in history.

Am I the only one that liked AVP2 better than AVP1? Really my biggest complaint about that movie was they slapped way too dark of a filter on the damn thing which made several of the action scenes tough to make out. Other than that I liked the whole people are stuck in the middle of an Alien/Predator hunt angle much more than secret lair for breeding Alien battles from the first AVP.

Anyway, I'd rank them like this

Predator
Predators
Predator 2

AVP2

AVP

For God's sake he gave Glover an old pistol, I can't remember whose name it was, but they also had a T-Rex skull in the trophy case.. clearly designed to indicate they had been on Earth for a long time.

How are the Falcons reacting to their star WR taking time off to play the title role in this?
