Fire marshal bill was one of the funniest characters to ever have been played on television

Jim Carrey was the breakout on that show but it also had young Jamie Foxx who was the DJ and the Wayans family.

Jamie was a cast member, Shawn Wayans started out as the DJ.

The network started micromanaging the show from a censorship perspective after the Super Bowp halftime special.
Blow outs and generic halftime shows were hurting ratings after the first half. In living color took over 20% of their halftime audience for the 1991 season’s superbowl (in 1992), and then the NFL made halftimes become an event within an event the next year with Michael Jackson.

I was too dumb as an 8 year old to realize james carrey was jim carrey and he did not actually have a twin brother.

Yep that was back when comedy could do things like this and people didn't get in a snit over it. We just laughed

one of the best shows how its not still on the air but SNL is baffles me
It was on Fox.
It took them decades to stop cancelling the really good shows.

It’s wild that you posted this as I was just thinking a couple of days ago how often I quote this show. Even the sketches that most don’t remember. This one in particular. “You know I’m fresh out” and “BAM!” get used often.

It was a little low brow at times but the material was way more raw and unfiltered than the extremely predictable and stale sorta sketch comedy networks typically produce.

i don't like skit shows. i find them very cheesy and with a wierd theater kid vibe.
In living color was the exception. Very funny stuff.
