That’s a good point. Risky mission but it was a prime target who was on the verge of doing even more damage to people on a larger scale, plus it would greatly improve the morale of Bix/Andor.
Cassian told Luthen that he couldn't operate at full capacity like this, constantly worrying how Bix is doing (he apparently shot a guy simply because he saw her face).
"It would just be easier if I was alone."
"You want my blood? You help me work this out."
Luthen knew that the horrors of what Gorst put her through was the source of this, and he needs Bix as much as he needs anyone else in the movement. This mission was an olive branch, one he knew Bix, along with Cassian, could pull off easy enough. Rid the Empire of a monster, and get Bix back to as close as she could get to 100%, and as a result, Cassian is more focused.

Am I remembering correctly than in Rebels, Mon Mothma gave a speech about a massacre on Ghormon? Maybe she was referring to the Tarkin Massacre, but I wonder if we get another mass killing that is the turning point to really pop off the Rebellion?
**SPOILER for those who avoided any trailers/teasers**
From all the teaser material we got prior to the release, we know a big event on Ghormon is coming, one that Dedra gives the order for. This will the tipping point that pushes the rebellion into overdrive.

I thought he said it was 6 years prior
I had closed captions on and it said 16. Plus, the bellhop said he was 12 when it happened and he looked older than 18.

Yeah I think things are about to pop off on Ghormon soon. Last episode was just the excuse the Empire wanted to go in heavy handed.

That's what Dedra discussed with Krennic in episode 1.
What I'm curious about is Syril's role in this. It's clear that Partagaz and Dedra are keeping something from him, but I don't know if it's the full scope of the Empire's end game on Ghorman or there is something else going on that is probably going to lead to Syril being killed. I don't imagine there is any true affection for him from Dedra, mainly because she's not capable of it. He's a tool for the ISB.

Yeah they are using Syril and will have to dispose of him soon, I'd imagine.
People hoping for him to "see the light" are in for disappointment in my opinion. He's too obsessed with getting praise from the Empire. Partagaz tells him "good work" and he calls it the best day of his life.
The only way I could see him turning against them is if they make an attempt to kill him and fail. He feels the ultimate betrayal and helps the rebels just to get back at them - maybe even killing Dedra in the process.

I could see the Syril and Andor dynamic coming full circle. Syril's story started when investigating Andor. It could end with a confrontation between the two of them where Syril has to make a choice.

I think there's something there between Dedra and Syril, they were seemingly together well before she got the Ghorman assignment. Though I do think both of them care more about their jobs than each other.
I also think Dedra is still somewhat in the dark of the full scope of what the Empire is doing on Ghorman, and I don't think she's revealed everything she knows to Syril either. He's even more in the dark.

I absolutely loved the moment Kleya and Luthen had as they left the party. Almost seemed like the actors were just enjoying themselves.

I imagine this is how poor Lonnie feels every day at work.

Speaking of, Lonnie was fantastic in episode 6. He has become one of my favorite storylines.

Maybe, but I'll bet its worth it for those 5 minutes he got to spend close to Kleya.
She's a special little minx.

Same here. Holding out hope he can have a happy ending but our luck he will be transferred to the Death Star at the end of the season.

If I wasn’t told who this was I would have never guessed that it’s the actress that plays Kleya

Were the night guards watching a little unauthorized pod racing when Syril snuck in to speak to Dedra? Wonder which track it was
Posted on 5/1/25 at 9:40 pm to DMagic
Yeah I caught that. Love the little Easter eggs all throughout the show.

Me too pod racing had some of the best video games in the Star Wars franchise including one of the best arcade cabinets ever invented
