I've never seen anyone use the Slingshot on the show. But I've just watched the last 3 seasons.

Season 3 winner, Zach Fowler, had one.

I'm sure there have been others.

In season 7, Amos definitely talked about using a bunny buster arrow to shoot a wolf and one of the girls shot a blunt tip at a porcupine.

This season is pretty boring. We are mostly just watching them starve.

It appears to me that they don't want a 80+ day contestant. They seem to want this wrapped up in about 60 days.

This is the biggest takeaway from this season.

Watched the episode last night. More of watching everyone starve, and had the dreaded Med check.

If Bico can hold out, he may take the win. I think everyone else’s is gonna get medically booted.

Well, Colter was the first medical tap due to starvation. Biko and Theresa seem on the verge of tapping.

Clay has this unless something unexpected happens. He seems pretty comfortable out there. Heck, he's hunting big cats!

Biko's lost 78 pounds in two months. While he may have the fats to lose there is a heavy impact on the organs. I've know people that lost a lot of weight too fast and had to have the their gallbladder removed.

If there is another season, they need make sure they go to places where the contestants have a legitimate chance to acquire food early. I don't think anyone wants to see another staving competition.

It’s official. Regardless of the reasons, this is the least interesting season ever of Alone.

This is my first season watching this, I might try to look at previous seasons, but from this season it appears to be putting people on camera in shelters and listening to them talk. Or in the case of Bike, sing.

Watch Season 7. I think it's on Netflix now. That season was great!

6 and 7 were both great. Seasons 1-3 were good. Season 5 was okay. Season 4 gives season 8 a run for it's money as the worst season.

Season 7 is on the History app too.
I use Roku and see it on there.

Netflix may avoid commercials if you pay for them already

Agree 100%

We need more coverage of what they're actually doing & how. Really want to see more hunting trips. This whole "watch them starve & complain" is really not working.

Season 4 was a different format--teams of two members (most/all were family), one had to hike to shoreline site after dropped several miles away to join teammate. IMO, it was relatively interesting and entertaining. So to me, season 8 stands alone (pun intended) as the worst season to-date. I have re-watched previous seasons several times--easily accessed on sling.

Prioritize episode 1 of season 7 for Desmond’s tap. It frustrated me at the time but now I look back at it and laugh. Good times.

I think this shows how important the editing is. They showed Colter catching multiple fish and never highlighted his struggles then boom, he's pulled.

I'm rooting hard for Biko to pull this out. He has to luck out at some point with his nets.

The funniest tap in the history of the show. It's the afternoon of the first day, he hadn't built a fire, shelter or anything and was just standing on the beach with his saw slowly sawing on the trunk of a massive tree

Yep.
and they did it with Jordan and now with Clay, talking about how they are losing weight. Give me a break. Of course they are losing weight. They are literally on a true low/no carb diet, but they are eating protein literally every day, on top of the cranberries, rose hips, and mushrooms they are harvesting. Clay still looks very healthy, and he's not once complained about being tired or anything.
I know they have to try to create drama, but there's no drama the last 3 seasons. You know who's going to win the second they take down that big game. Why no one else is actively hunting is just stupid.

I have no idea how Biko is still out there. He's barely eaten anything. I know he was fat before, but you can't just not eat for weeks on weeks.

The lack of any efforts to trap small game is crazy given how in so many other seasons people subsisted solely on that food source.

well it was just a stupid location.
couldn't set gill nets until 45 days in. Fishing sucked b/c it was so windy all the time.
can't kill squirrels, so makes it kind of hard to set traps b/c you can't have squirrels in them.
We saw one person catch a rabbit in a snare, and i don't think they showed anyone else setting snares.

they were set up to fail, unless you got some big game, but we barely even saw anyone trying to go after big game other than Clay, and i think i saw british lady with the bow a good bit, but she never actively went out hunting. I don't think anyone did other than Clay.
So you aren't trying for big game, fishing is nearly impossible, and you can't trap small game. Good luck.
