Wife wanted to watch this, I’m a sucker for all things WW2 era so i said ok. So far revolves around a blind French chick speaking hope to her fellow citizens in 1944 and a kraut dude who falls her.

Anyways, the point of my post is cuck boy Ruffalo. Mark Ruffalo’s accent is probably one of the worst I’ve ever heard in my life

Why the hell was he cast in this when so many British actors are around? He makes this feel like a damn C level production. It’s legit laughable

Used to love Ruffalo but I can’t stand his acting the last several years. So whiny. Even in avengers.

Haven't watched yet, but will watch this weekend. This book is one of the best I've ever read and did such a good job and showing how the war hurt everyone, even Germans.

Not everyone reads books. People have different talents, hobbies, and interests.

The book itself would be perfect for people who don't read to much. There are many chapters in the book that are 1-3 pages long. Very unusual, but you can put the book down and pick it up much later without losing interest. Besides, it's a great story.

Good show overall but Ruffalo ruins every scene he’s in. His accent is laughably bad

I am watching now, and I can't understand why American actors are speaking with British accents, when the people they are portraying are French.

Hoping this series does the book justice.

I read the book and am halfway through the series.

So far, so good.

Also some small differences (that don’t take away from the book) that make watching the show more “surprising” than if you know every detail in advance.

Its laughable that any English speaking movie set in non-English locations uses a British accent. Like somehow that accent makes everything outside of the US more "foreign."

I would prefer these films use the native language accent if they speak English.

I still like Ruffalo. He did a nice job in a thankless role in Zodiac.

I’m a huge music nerd and can almost always separate musicians/actors politics and personal life from entertainment

That said, I absolutely can’t fricking stand Ruffalo. At all

Just finished it, it was great, and I liked that a story was told in just four episodes. Yes, Ruffalo is distractingly bad, and you wonder why the French people all have British accents (some of them fake British accents ).

Took me a second to realize the main guy was the guy from Dark.

I was wondering if the actress playing Marie was really blind, so I looked into it, and the actress, Aria Mia Loberti, is "legally blind," so I don't think she's fully dark. What a story though. She was actually an academic, in grad school at Penn State, when she auditioned for the role. She had no acting training and this was her very first audition. Apparently thousands of people applied for the role. She was great, the role was very well cast.

Wife (no pics) & I just finished & really enjoyed it. Never read the book. Try to not over analyze what we watch. Would recommend

However, Hugh Laurie comes in and saves the series from Ruffalo.

Struggled just a bit with Hugh Laurie in this role, knowing he's come as a tranny in real life. Looks just like you'd imagine him / her looking.
