I watched a 10 minute S1 recap which was pretty helpful. I still feel like I need to rewatch at least 1 or 2 episodes to get fully caught back up though.
What do yall think is the endgame with this? Like hwat happens once face cards are collected, and why are the gamemasters doing all this shite

I wouldn't be surprised if the cards don't really do anything other than give contestants false hope.
This is one that I've wanted to rewatch for a while now. I just remember how intense it was and how much I enjoyed it. That wolf/sheep episode was brutal.

I’m just starting the first season after seeing this thread. In episode 4 now. Hadn’t heard of this or squid game.
So at this point I’m wondering
- are they in their native world and everyone else is gone? (Seems unlikely given they leave and arrive at different times)
- were they taken to a parallel world?
- are they in a computer simulation?
- are these clones inserted into a fake recreation of the city? (This is my guess so far)

I'm halfway through E2 of the first season of my rewatch. Need to step it up, but I am off for the next four days so I should be able to knock out all of it and get started on S2.

finished my rewatch the other night, there were definitely some things i forgot like the game master is one of the execs from the beach and i had forgot that the 2 girls in the 10 of hearts game were "dealers" and it gives a back story on how they became them.

Not impressed at all. Huge drop off from season 1 imo.

My guess is that they are in some VR situation. I know that this is based on a set of manga comics. I was wondering if anyone read them.

It’s interesting that the initial impressions here are negative, or at least not as good as season 1. Looking at the episode ratings on IMDB season 2 is better than season 1. Bots have killed IMDBs overall ratings, but episode ratings seem pretty solid, especially relative to the same show.

Ok, finished the last 2 this morning... Very meh, 6/10 IMO

Obviously a 3rd season coming with the Joker card on the table and will likely watch just to see where it goes, but could easily end now and I wouldn't be disappointed.

All the bs with them semi explaining things along the way and all the face cards being willing to share completely went astray from the first season. When the girl shouted she was the game master and was immediately killed.
And the King of Spades bs was stupid. How was that a game? It was basically urban warfare.

If anything, it made the main characters doubt if there was any actual end to the games or you would just become a face card/citizen if you made it far enough. Only the Queen of Hearts really tried to talk about what was going on and she gave a bunch of lies about it - so we never got a real explanation as far as I could tell.
I didn't care much for the King of Spades game either. But mainly because I got tired of the ridiculous amount of punishment and wounds the main characters apparently survived.
