I don’t think that is relevant.

He was referencing the characteristic of “knowing what is best for us” and using politicians as a comparable example.

His post has nothing to with whether the Hollywood overlords, as he calls them, actually “like” the politicians.

Thus he used “they are like”, not “they like”.

This is what people will be doing once AI and robots take all the jobs. Just hobbies

Unless Congress or Trump does something to restrict the availability of AI, this won’t get any better at all. It will only get much worse in a short amount of time. AI and corporate companies like Netflix and Disney are cancers that need to be burned to the fricking ground.

It’s fricking over. The era of cinema that I, and many users on here, grew up with is dead and buried.

Movies used to be a form of art created by dedicated and passionate filmmakers who weren’t in it for the money. Now it’s the complete opposite.

gatekeeping
I remember when the internet arrived and tore down the walls of publishing gatekeeping. Turns out that out of all of the writers being “kept out” by the gatekeepers, a minuscule percentage were worth a shite.

That, and writers of everything from novels to comic books who were giving the gatekeeper excuse for their lack of ambition, suddenly had no excuse for their lack of productivity.

No it wont

The biggest obstacle to Ai movie making is marketing. Even Hollywood films without a big marketing budget get lost. Digital creators cant market until they make money

You might get thousands of views on your social media, but someone else somewhere is using those same characters and killing off story lines that you wrote your plot around.

Mass confusion. Even Hollywood effs up story lines. See: Disney and Star Wars. Hollywood will always monitor the gate

Why would more tools available to a wider variety of people be bad?

Don't worry - Jews can use AI too.

Not to be technical but he said the government

But more directly, how exactly did you distinguish from my point? You don't think the current administration and its fans think they're doing what's best for us?

Government is government.

Ok, but nowhere did he say anything in regards to whether the “gatekeepers” have any opinion on the current admin.

Because I am not an idiot.

It was blatantly obvious what his point was.

His response to me shows I am right.

Sure, but that has nothing at all to do with what he posted.

How you so blatantly misread it is an indictment of how locked in on politics you actually are and how it alters your perception, especially on here.

Ok.

Take it to the PT Board.

Seedance 2.0 shows where this is heading.

Entertainment won’t be one movie for millions anymore. It will be films generated per viewer.

Language, tone, pacing, even narrative choices adapted to individual taste.

With what I'm seeing with Seedance 2.0, my thoughts are this:

- Good AI movies and shows will rise to the top on sites like YouTube, just look good streamers already rise to the top over bad ones.

- We're going to see some serious challenges to IP laws, but at the end of the day that's going to work out about as well as trying to stop people from finding streaming sites to watch anything they want anyway.

- This is going to slash major movie budgets as there will be no reason to undertake risky or highly costly scenes.

- We're going to get so many new Game of Thrones endings within the next year

- People who say this type of technology won't change the industry and the world live with their head in the sand. I already don't believe a single thing I see on Facebook or Instagram. It's going to be soon where I don't believe anything I see on the news either. This technology is amazing.

ETA: We're going to be getting rid of real TV/movie actors very soon and honestly it couldn't have happened to a more deserving group.

A few things to keep in mind:

1. AI would end up being the end of a LOT of jobs if it becomes successful, not just the people you disagree with politically.

2. AI is a long ways off from being profitable. It's quite possible it'll burst before it reaches a point of self-sustainability.

3. It's weird they include "taste" in their post; this simply leads me to believe they haven't seen most of the stuff being created with AI.

4. Big companies will still have a lot of influence, potentially to the level of tying up AI servers to the point that passion projects take much longer to get made.

Is that why Jake Paul is famous? Your statement lacks credence.

Wait until "IP" includes the face of one of your children and no one has passed anything to prevent it or punish people for doing it.

Okay? Less money going into the economy. Just ask Georgia how much they've benefitted financially for incentivizing shows and movies to be made there.

Whooptie-shite.

It's not "amazing". Yes, it will likely change the industry, but not in a positive way. Imagine a world where the next John Williams or Hans Zimmer is slinging fries because everyone thought AI music was "just as good." Consider that as well - movies won't be the only thing that gets pushed aside by corporations wanting to not have to pay people. Music is definitely on that list as well.

This is a weird take considering your opinion is based on the actions and opinions of maybe a percentage of a percentage. SAG has over 170,000 registered members - and you're wanting them all to lose their jobs because of a few dozen got in front of people at an awards show and said things you didn't like?

Do you apply this level of "scorched earth" to every profession? Do you think every waiter should be fired because one was rude to you? Every mechanic let go because screwed up the repair on your car?
