I see it's releasing in theaters in a few weeks. I enjoyed the first two. This one is (obviously) a prequel.

Looks like bad cgi and jump scares.

Took me a while to get around to seeing the second one but it was awesome and thought it was better than the original.

Maybe so. It was certainly a worthy sequel. The two movies had slightly different vibes.

The first movie, with it’s indefatigable spirit of love and hope and dedication and sacrifice between a husband and wife, and the entire family, in the face of unimaginable horror and hardship was as inspiring as it was depressingly sad. I don’t think I’ve seen another movie like it.

A similar theme, but not exactly, was present in A Beautiful Life.

Saw it today. Thought it was just ok. The first 2 were better.

Saw it last night, it was alright. Not something I’ll watch again like I did the first one.

Same. First was my favorite. Tension was superb especially in a dark and quiet theater.

Feeling like they want this to be a Aliens or Predator style franchise but the purpose of the monsters doesn't rise to that level IMO. Mindless blind interplanetary killing machines eh?

Going to see it tonight with my two girls. Hope it doesn’t suck. $56 to see a movie is fricking ridiculous.

This is where I am. At least not without fast forwarding.
It’s like they had a script of a separate movie that couldn’t succeed on its own so they attached it to a promising franchise and threw in some monsters to the storyline.

I didn’t really like it.

Watching the movie made me wonder how the creatures overran the military in the first place, as I think was mentioned in newspaper clippings in the first film. Apparently it was figured out pretty quickly that they rely on sound and have extremely sensitive hearing. Someone would have thought to try to take advantage of that much like what was done in the first film.

The creatures also cannot swim and this was figured out early enough to still be capable of blowing the bridges of Manhattan using jets.

So if they figured out the water and sound weaknesses while the military was still functional enough to be flying jets around, I think they could turned the tables pretty quickly.

Still not nearly as unrealistic as The Walking Dead, though. How do a bunch of walkers with no cognitive ability that frequently lose one on one confrontations against an average person with a knife take over the world?

But anyway, worst of all was the damn cat. I like animals too but I’m not keeping a cat around in that environment. Nevermind that the cat seemed a lot smarter than a cat should be.

They never figured out the sound weakness. They must knew you had to be quiet around them.

Apparently that cat can swim underwater too. Aquacat for the win.

I said someone with the military would have come up with the idea of testing their hearing sensitivity for weakness.
