What's the timeline on this in relation to GOT season1? Only heard of this mentioned, I don't know the story.

I believe the child in this show is Dannys grandfather. Maybe great grand father?

About 90 years.

If you remember Maester Aemon in Game of Thrones talking about his younger brother "Egg" aka Aegon becoming king, that's who he's talking about.

Egg (Aegon V) is the Mad King’s grandfather, so it would be Dany’s great grandfather and Jon’s great great grandfather.

ETA: fixed my mistakes

I won't put that much effort into a series that has no ending

Dunk and Egg isn’t finished either.
Fire & Blood also isn’t finished.

This one at least has an ending point. Its not like a cliff hanger end.

I just purchased this one and I realize that it is only half the history but given that its a history, I assume it'll also come to a somewhat clear end of whatever the last story they tell is.

Also I am a liar and will probably read ASOIAF at some point.

They haven’t announced who’s portraying bloodraven? He’s basically the main character if you really understand the story…they have to get that casting right

Egg is Maester Aemon's brother. He becomes king when Aemon refuses the crown (as he explains to Jon Snow in GoT) and goes to the wall to be their maester.

It's about 100 years before GoT. We might get to see a little demon toddler Walder Frey, who is mentioned in the Dunk and Egg books.

The Dance of Dragons ending is known, so the show will have an ending based on FnB as well as World of Ice and Fire.

I want to watch Bobby B skull frick
Bobby B was a shite king and his whole rebellion was based on his false belief that Lyanna loved him. She didn't. She loved Rhaegar, but thousands had to die anyway.

Robert is not a heroic character, IMO.

If any of y’all haven’t read dunk and egg series it’s frickin great. It’s a prequel but close enough to events of ASOIAF to influence it. For instance, Walder Frey is in it, albeit he’s like 4 years old. Fantastic series of books.

Try Duncan and Aegon, fool…he shaves his blonde hair off in the story and his bald head looks like an egg

You left out the part about the King roasting alive the Warden of the North while his heir is strangled to death trying to save him.

Lets not act like the Targs were doing a great job ruling the kingdom. They didn't call him the Mad King for nothing.
