So how is this going to work out. you have three members of the Kingguard fighting for Aerion and it was implied that their first priority in the trial is to protect the three Targs. So Aerion's side has his useless brother and three defense first knights.
On Dunk's side you have the first in line for the throne so the King's Guard will also be on the lookout to protect him even though they are on the other seven.
I'd send the Laughing Storm straight at Steffon(he is basically Aerion's only offense). He should rip through him like a hot knife through butter. The rest of the team try to tie up Maekor and the King's Guard. Then Dunk should go right at Aerion and call him out to fight like a man or puss out.

Absolutely incredible moment when Baelor took his helmet off.

I actually liked Season 1 of HOTD. Milly Alcock was way better as Rhaenyra than Emma D'Arcy IMO. Season 2 just felt...off.
It was evident that they were stretching Season 2 for budget reasons. I mean at the end of S2 everyone was in pretty much the same place they were in in like Ep 3 or 4 of S2.

Damn! Of course they leave the battle for the next episode.

From the previews we have seen it looks like the battle starts as a joust from both sides with each person lined up against another.
As for the Kingsguard they aren't allowed to hurt Baelor, but the other knights are very much fair game. Their first role is to protect the royal family, but they also have a duty as champions in this trial to fight on behalf of the accuser.
A trial like this can end in a couple of different ways. Either Aerion and Daeron withdraw their accusations, all of the champions on one side are either killed or forced to yield, or if Dunk dies or yields. The Kingsguard will not just sit there playing defense, it is in their interest to help the trial end as quickly as possible with minimal damage to their side.

Got a strong gut feeling Steffon kills his cousin. Dunk kills him. Aerion does some pussy shite. Him and Dunk square off while the rest of the bunch kind of spectate. Baratheon might try to frick up one of the kings guard.

I feel pretty strongly that Baratheon survives and plays a big role in the story going forward.

I watched the 1st three episodes last night. The wife and I had just finished our 3rd viewing of the GOT series. I haven't read any of the books or novella's, but I knew immediately who Egg was from old Maester of Castle Black (Maester Aemon) calling out to Egg on his death bed with Samwell Tarley and Gilly at his bedside.
This series is light-hearted and jovial compared to HoD & GoT, and I love it so far. Kinda wish they were full episodes, but happy to get some Westeros blood flowing.

Im glad you are on top of this.
Even though the "mage" clearly says that Egg will die in flames and Dunk will fall beneath a great dragon.

Holy shitballs that episode was incredible. I was talking with the wife, and we both were saying how with the idiotic way GOT ended and then the House of the Dragons nonsense, that ending and this whole show is such an epic reminder of how great GOT can be, sorta like Andor for Star Wars. We had almost forgotten how epic GOT is but then you get a final scene like that with the reveal and the score pumping, and LETS frickING GOOO!
One question for those who know this Westeros stuff, but how exactly does the trial of seven have to finish? Is it an actually fight to the death until one team is completely eliminated? If you kill the accuser / accused from either team, does it end regardless of who else is alive? What are the rules?

E5: "In the Name of the Mother" - 39 min.
At 39 minutes, this will be the second longest episode, E1 having been the longest.
