Throughout these movies, I have complained, to myself, that the powers of these characters change for convenience purposes. I may be wrong, but it seems the Hulk actually changes in size. I can suspend disbelief for some pretty dumb shite like aliens and zombies, but for some reason, these power fluctuations piss me off. And Hela was simply too powerful.

That actually does fit the comics

He gets bigger and stronger the more enraged he becomes

Actually pisses me off how much they downgraded Thor, Cap, and Iron Man and upgraded stone-less Thanos for this brawl.

So you wanted it to be a 2 hour movie that was really boring?

The fact that you're legitimately pissed off is pretty funny. What were you expecting to happen?

The dumbest part is when Starlord and the gang had him wrestled down and instead of just shooting him in the head, they try to pull the gauntlet off. Its ok to shoot at him the entire movie, but if you get him held down you hold off from shooting him.

The biggest thing that pissed me off was the build up of Cap being able to pick up Moljnir over a few movies since Ultron, finally having it happen plus Thor having Stormbreaker and that not being the pivotal moment in the fight for them to win. He gets Moljnir, they get the upperhand briefly, then Thanos handles them after essentially wasting Cap picking up Moljnir

This.

In end game they made Thanos look incredliby weak. He punched Iron Man head on, smack the shite out of thor and then broke Cap shield.

Yet when he punched Danvers right in the face, she no sells it, it barely affects her and his fist hurt.

Thats bullshite, but then now we know Eternals could have kicked Thanos arse along with the Mandrian guy with his ten rings that is probably more powerful than than the Infinity Stones.

Also Kang could easily kill Thanos and for some reason, Vision could cut Thanos in two but didn't.

is your name Scott Evil?

"I'm going to place him in an easily escapable situation involving an overly elaborate and exotic death."

"Why don't you shoot him now? I mean, come on, I'll go get a gun. We'll shoot him together. It'll be fun. BANG! Dead. Done."

Exactly.

Dr. Evil:
Mr. Powers, you'll notice that all the sharks have laser beams attached to their heads. I figure every creature deserves a warm meal.

Number Two:
Dr. Evil, it's about the sharks. When you were frozen, they were put on the endangered species list. We tried to get some, but it would've taken months to clear up the red tape.

Dr. Evil:
You know, I have one simple request. And that is to have sharks with frickin' laser beams attached to their heads! Now evidently, my cycloptic colleague informs me that that can't be done. Can you remind me what I pay you people for? Honestly, throw me a bone here. What do we have?

Number Two:
Sea bass.

Dr. Evil:
Right.

Number Two:
They are mutated sea bass.

Dr. Evil:
Really? Are they ill-tempered?

Number Two:
Absolutely.

Dr. Evil:
That's a start.

Thanos also had on armor and his double edged sword. I have to imagine that stuff had some special properties that we’re not accounting for similar to vibranium.

He wasn’t really concerned until Wanda started plucking off his armor.

The Thanos we see fighting the Avengers in Infinity War vs Endgame are very different characters with different motivations. He seems a humble warrior with a cause he feels is right in IW, but ultimately respects and admires the fighting spirit of the heroes.

Endgame Thanos is him at his “mad titan” apex without the stones. He’s a conqueror that hasn’t had the trials from IW, then sees his own victory/demise be for naught so he’s pissed and wants The Avengers to suffer. He wants them dead, not sure he felt the same in IW.

I’d say Strange in IW then maybe Cap in Endgame are the ones that put up the best fight against him 1v1. Aside from Scarlet Witch fricking him up instantly, but we know she’s a different level when she wants to be.

I don't think his concern was about losing the protection of his armor, but a genuine moment of fear not know the depth of Wanda's power. It was different from all the other Avengers. It scared him enough that he called for the fire, which was a sacrificial last resort.

I was ok with it. Still have lots of old comics from the 80s and 90s; Thanos in his first outing destroyed the Avengers, straight up kicked their asses - and he didn't even have the gauntlet, he only had the soul stone. It was Spider-man who ended up saving everyone, and Adam Warlock who actually "killed" him.

Honestly the only problem I had with that fight was Captain Marvel, god that character is atrocious. She really feels like some shitter's self-insert, although to be honest I never cared for her in the comics either. I laughed when Thanos quite literally punched her out of the movie.

I mean, I get the complaint about Thor. But Tony didn’t go 3-4 rounds with Thanos. He used every bit of tech he had just to land one blow. He was toyed with. Cap got knocked out with one punch in Infinity War

Together, yes, they should put up a good fight. And they did. I don’t really get the complaint here other than just to bitch. I think it comes down to your belief that Thanos is basically Hulk which is just wrong. He’s one of the strongest fighters in the entire universe.

ETA: Tony and Cap did well. Thor should have done more damage but they HAD to nerf him with him being fat because he basically one shot Thanos in Infinity War

All true and the fact is also that Tony did defeat Thanos, even when he had the full gauntlet. He got his rematch from infinity war and this time he won. He couldn’t go toe to toe for too long, but he used his smarts and tech to defeat him because he is a genius, and in the end he was, as Cap said, willing to make the sacrifice play.

This happens in comics all the time as well. Sometimes heroes get a downgrade or villains get an upgrade for the sake of storytelling.

As for Thor - you’re making assumptions that his physical health/state has no bearing on his power set. Why wouldn’t they?

Well, first, he headbutts her.

Secondly, Carol is an energy absorber. She got a boost from them shooting at her (not knowing her powers), but she got a MASSIVE boost being near the Infinity stones (probably not even realizing it), which is why she starts off being thrown around by Thanos but in the end appears stronger - until he hits her with something too strong for her to absorb.

As for how well Thanos did, there are 3 people who could have theoretically killed him in that battle:
Thor
Wanda
Captain Marvel

Of those three, he is both aware of Thor and has seen the footage where Thor kills him. He prepares for Thor.
He has no insight into Wanda or Captain Marvel. They are wild cards he has no chance to prepare for.

The nerfing of powers of certain characters so that the story can happen has always bothered me. Not just in the MCU.

And it's always the same... because (insert character here) really really wants it more, they overcome getting fist to the face and beng slammed into concrete walls and floors to *gasp* somehow overcome the odds and WIN!!!

Yeah, that never happens.
