Well, since Elsa has Yellow hair, it seems pretty obvious what the ranch will be named when she dies presumably in Montana.

Or they just named it after the Yellowstone River which runs through the valley…

They aren’t even in Casper yet, still 350-400 miles to Montana.

It makes you really hate those Lakota Indians for Dothan atrocity, but I guess there was no way for the immigrants to communicate they didn’t do it until it was too late.

Hence why they were told to stay there and not run. Leaving the scene made them guilty to the Lakota.

Ahh that makes sense. Thanks! I must’ve missed that part when I left the room.

There’s so few left now.

No way Elsa would have made it far enough to spare her life after shooting those two Indians

I am not a medical historian by any stretch and I am not going to attempt to Goggle-cate myself on it but...

Even if she did not incur any major organ damage (that is a very big if) she WILL get a systemic infection that is likely to overwhelm her immune system. A deep puncture wound like a through arrow is not going to bleed enough to clean itself. Doctors are almost always more worried about even a fairly shallow puncture wound that closes off than an open laceration that bleeds profusely. For example, dog bites that rip the skin open are far less likely to result in infection than a pure puncture would the seals over. They will sometimes open those and put in a surgical drain for a few days.

At the time there were no true antibiotics and the best thing they had was "potions" and poultices made from plants along with scary stuff like arsenic and mercury.

The chances of her survival are extraordinarily slim, especially since the little medical help she can get is days away leaving the infection to set in before even the meager treatments they had at the time can start.

TLDR: she dead well unless Sheridan just changes history again, hell they may have Cipro in his alternate universe.

Dutton told his wife the they will make home at the place that Elsa dies so she can be buried with her family instead of a grave on the trail.

Montana isn't on the way on the Oregon trail.

I take it the Lakota doesn't kill Comanches.

I'm pissed that the certain western tribes are mentioned when they are in the midwest. Nez Pierce Indians were were in Idaho, Utah and Oregon. They also weren't savages on the level on the midwest Commachees. A different culture. Comanchees were ruthless. After blood. Just read history.

Has it been stated if 1883 is a miniseries/limited series? Or is this going to go on for multiple seasons?

I’d like to see more or Thomas and shea, but I doubt they’ll have a role in a second season.

There is 1 more episode listed for this season.

And IMDB has a season 2 listed. Not sure if that means anything.

It was renewed. Remember they just announced 1932 which will be the story of Tim McGraws son

My guess is one more season of 1883

That's certainly plausible. I don't know the history of the river's name so I'll assume it works. I'm going to stick to my theory because Dutton placed such a high emphasis on honoring his daughter's death by establishing their home at the place she passes away that it makes sense to name the ranch for her Yellow Hair as was part of her Indian name. We'll see soon enough.

I want to disagree with you, as it seems more logical to name it after the river that runs through it, but hell you might be right.

Yes, I saw they announced 1932 and also announced more 1883 episodes as well. Reading online it just says that right now, the network as announced that they've ordered more episodes but it is unclear if they will take the form of a second season or "some other format."

He’s really from Charenton. Grew up on the chitimacha reservation. I think he went to West St Mary High School. Also went to Lsu.

Is this the last show of the season? Or one more show?

Does Elsa really die?
