It was renewed. Remember they just announced 1932 which will be the story of Tim McGraws son
My guess is one more season of 1883

Tom Hanks wife just had to get a scene a few shows ago- I could have done w/o that.
This last show flipped me out. Why did the men tell them to sit on the trail and wait while they went and killed the assholes that murdered and raped the indians?
That was plain dumb. But they had to get a WHO SHOT J.R. suspense thing going with Elsa I guess. To keep people hooked.

I watched an after show. Elsas accent is off on the show for sure. She talks w/o an accent IRL.

The Hanks and The McGraws have been close friends for a very long time.

Sheridan was god awful
I don't think his acting was bad, just the glued on black pubes on his face. It was laughably bad.

It wonder if Sheridan will get Tim to grab a mic from the wagon and sing “My Little Girl” as Elsa passes away. It honestly is a good song.

Looks like I'm in the minority here but I thought that episode wasn't very good.
The idea to go after the Indian murderers and murder them was a bit odd but I can roll with it. Of course the murderers were seemingly a mile away and of course even though they had twice as many people they were all easily killed and our group not a scratch.
Then one Indian has Elsa dead to rights and lets her grab a gun off a corpse and shoot him. He of course speaks fluent English like every Indian they've encountered including the Chief just a few minutes later. The Chief who speaks perfect English is so stunned to hear her say a few words in Comanche he lets her go! By the way, he should be stunned as she learned quite a bit of Comanche in just a day of being married.
I want the show to be good but it is either too slow or lots of things happening that aren't realistic and I'm not just talking about riding out a tornado. The way people act and decisions they make aren't realistic.

Agree completely, and I don't think that you are in the minority.

It has way too many copy cats of dances with wolves. She should have stayed with her new indian husband. Then no way Tim McGraw & the other billy badasses should have left them on the trail. They should have all kept going and strength in numbers.

I’m not expert by any means but is anyone else really confused by their route? In the last episode they were only in Oklahoma but someone they have gotten all the way to maybe Wyoming.
Posted on 2/22/22 at 12:30 pm to Peter Venkman
I guess they could be in Colorado.

Their route is fairly accurate I think based on some trail maps I’ve seen from the time.

The point was if they stay as told the Lakota would not have thought it was them who killed their families. Leaving the scene made them guilty as they were told it would and why the Lakota attempted to kill them all.
What was stupid is the Lakota would have never set up a camp right off the only trail through the area, especially with the bandits and other outlaws in the area looking for them.

Yes, it’s my pet peeve with this series. Start/end each episode with 3-5 seconds on a trail map.
This aspect is well done in The Pacific so you know where the Marines are fighting.

After being really disappointed in last weeks episode and some parts of earlier ones this one was really good. Maybe it’s hitting its stride
