This show is becoming the type of series people look forward to seeing so it can be picked apart.
I'm taking the errors with a grain of salt. Even though this is by no means an epic series, it's ok.
I tend to look at it in part like MST3K.
My wife likes it better than I do and I pissed her off when I referred the the Indian Romance as a bad Harlequin Novel. I then played Slim Whitmans Indian Love Call ( LINK ).

Also still confused after killing the bandits in episode 7. In episode 8 they said they did not have enough horses for everyone so many would walk but yet they just killed 12+ bandits who not only had horses but with saddles. Instead they go out looking for the wagon horses and wild horses. Not to mention the bandits were armed to the teeth yet we see the father trading for ammo and the settlers still using old weapons when the Comanches arrived.
I mean it is 1883 in the wild and untamed part of the country. Anything that you find that can used to survive you would take.

This show had great potential but in 2 episodes has gone to complete shite. That Indian can’t get here fast enough to put an arrow through Elsa. She’s now the whore of the wagon trail and her parents are cool with it because kids will be kids.
In reality that tornado would’ve killed the whore and Indian but instead they make out in the middle of it. Fast forward 100 years and it would’ve thrown them and their trailer half way across the country but trailers didn’t exist then so I guess tornados didn’t kill people yet.
Elsa’s father would’ve killed that Indian in 1883. Hell that Comanche would’ve killed them in 1883. There was no Love between the Comanche and whites during those times. Even if they had married, that Indian would’ve had her working like a dog day 1 instead of running the plains on horseback. She’d gone straight to the teepee kitchen.
And the Dances with Wolves scene…. I bet that whole wagon train is thinking, “Elsa has done dicked down a cowboy and Indian before the Rockies and is now alone again. I wonder what she will do when she meets the Asians building the railroads and lonely miners in Colorado.” Thomas has to like his odds at this point as well since she likes to create controversy with her snatch.

This is again why Sheridan sucks as a writer. Lightning with the Yellow Hair would have been doing those dishes and scrubbing those pants. Life was rough for women in 1883. Moreso for Indian women.
I absolutely hate this character arc. Its just borderline woke crap and revisionist history.
Y'all enjoy this garbage.

So are you done posting on this thread or will you be the type of person that watches every episode so you can pick it apart every week? There are some people that just likes to fuss....

Gonna go re-watch Hell or High Water to remind myself that deep down, Sheridan can write a good screenplay.

It looked like he tried to copy Stephen Lang's take on Stonewall Jackson but did a horrible job with the accent.
His character was Charles Goodnight who was a real person. Goodnight was a famous rancher in Texas and made some of the bigger cattle trails to the north.

Aggrievement reviewing is really starting to zenith. It's been going strong on here for a few years now- but it's only entertaining when it's new and fresh. Every thread is like this now. Next up with a new idea that can storm/conform the internet.

This show is bad. Real bad.
Yet, I watch it and will keep watching new episodes. *shrug*
The Pinkertons sure have a lot of money to throw around and still make a profit. How much did these immigrants pay? A train ticket to Oregon was only like $65 back then. lol

Right, but the Pinkertons were spending hundreds plus whatever their take would be. Hiring cowboys, cooks, buying supplies, ammo, etc. plus the time and personal risk of death.
I get why they would have done this in the 1840s but doing that in 1889 is stupid.

This makes Thomas buying that mirror for the gypsy for $50 even more unbelievable.
The show is not good but there is only a few episodes left so I'll finish the season then decide if I will watch any further seasons.
