Even at the best schools, some of the athletes tend to be shitbirds.

Zachary was banned (temporarily) from the LHSAA baseball tournament in the past decade due to a brawl with another team over taunting.

Less sure about Liberty (former Lee HS), as it is ostensibly a magnet school but I don’t know how the quality of kids stacks up to BRMHS or Scotlandville Magnet HS.

but in the heat of the moment kids don't think about stuff like that.

That's when coaches need to step in and control the situation. Looks like there was more than a couple second that led up to it. Coaches should have shut that down before it happened. But then, there is a little attitude that is common to both schools.

Zachary is definitely not new to having playoff repercussions, but they won't learn until is actually gets enforced.

There’s no reason to step over someone and linger. None.

LHSAA should step in and start suspending players for the rest of the season and do it regularly enough that it becomes an incentive for the coaches to reign in that kind of stuff.

Of course, that would require coaches to be adults and nip that stuff in the bud early on instead of looking the other way because a kid is a good player. Game time more than likely isn’t the first time a player has shown those kinds of tendencies to act like that. Take away a coach’s good players and maybe he gets his players in line and that shite tapers down.

It would also require the LHSAA to have some folks act like adults and issue harsh penalties instead of being afraid of PR backlash of suspending a kid for multiple games.

That’s Cohen and WSJ though in class 1A. No one cares about them

They're scared of Zach in this area.

did you not see what they did to WSJ and Cohen girls hoops 8 games into the season, or the franklin parish coaching staff? They have lowered the boom this year.

Hardly, If I had to wager the penalties will be harsh on both especially for home team.

the WSJ COhen brawl lasted much longer.

I looked it up, both of these schools are “A” rated schools.

Let that sink in

It appears that only 1 of the schools is responsible for it. There’s not much else the Zachary player could do in that situation.

Is Lee High still a magnet school?

Probably not… I bet so many more people follow 5A as opposed to 1A that it makes up for them going to the Dome a few times

I hate to break it to you once you get outside of NOLA, most people DGAF about NOLA schools, much like your opine of the small schools - which many have better atmospheres and more fans than urban and suburban schools.

I don't see a law enforcement officer anywhere in that video.

there was one in the 2nd video, and why on earth do you need a police officer at a fricking high school basketball game? What the hell do you expect 1 police officer to do in this circumstance?

We went play at the old Redemptorist recently for a middle school game and their were two cops there. We sure as shite don't have cops at our catholic middle school games.

I saw a sign recently about summer baseball through BREC and on the poster it literally says "law enforcement at every game", and i thought to myself well thanks for letting me know to not join that league. The fact that you need police officers at sporting events for children is pathetic.

You are pretty out of touch if you don’t know every HS sporting event is required to have security.

100% agree, but you know why they do it? B/c they see it on tv in the NFL and the NBA all the time, and there isn't much of a penalty for it usually.
I find it extremely disrespectful, and if you did that to me i'd punch your nuts into your stomach.

I think you should be kicked out of the game when you do it. It's an act that is sure to escalate any situation. Don't punish a kid for standing up for himself. Punish the piece of shite that thought it was cool to walk over someone from the get go.

It was longer than the clip...were dust-ups on both ends..and at one point multiple liberty fans were arguing with the refs face to face at center court by the scorers table

LHSAA handbook says security at events. It does not specify law enforcement.
