Would a Loyola championship be a bigger upset than Leicester City?

God not even close.

Leicester City won the season long premier league table, a much harder accomplishment than getting hot for six games.

Loyola would have to win the Big East or ACC regular season title to compare. Would be a much bigger accomplishment and upset.

Well Leicester was 500 to 1. Loyola was 1000 to 1 earlier in the year. So yeah.

Leicester didn't have to win EVERY game to win their title

Loyola is ranked higher in KenPom than both Miami and Kansas State.

They only have two true upset wins. Nevada (24) and Tennessee (13) and neither team is even in the top 10.

They got a very favorable draw despite being seeded 2 or 3 lines too low. This is a team that should have probably been an 8 seed based on their performance in the regular season.

Nope - the variance of an amateur tournament is much higher than an entire professional season of soccer.

They probably should’ve been a 9, legitimately. The sad part is they would’ve been left out if they didn’t win in St Louis. But it’s how they always treat the Valley, unfairly.

Leicester was 5000 to 1 to win the EPL. So Loyola still had five times better odds.
