re: Worse team rename: Commanders or Guardians?

I like the Guardians. It’s a good local reference the the largest statues right outside the stadium.

I also Think most sports names sound dumb until You get used to them.

Could you imagine naming a team the Cardinals or Lakers today with no context?

I’d say the opposite. At least Guardians ends in dians, so the fans still wearing Indians jerseys, blends in a little. The Commanders on the other hand, have had to totally rebrand brand everything in a shittier way, and they're shortened name can be called Commies, Which is a perfect representation of of DC, which is where the federal government is, and this Federal Government acts like a bunch of Commies. So there’s nothing good that comes out of rebranding to Commanders imo.

Yeah I think Guardians is a lot worse. I think I'll in time accept Commanders, or at least not think it sounds dumb when I hear it.

Plus seeing that W on the former Redskins iconic logo on the helmet is so high school.
