true, allow me to clarify, no original (D-1A) FBS school has ever dropped to FCS

Idaho was FCS, went up to FBS, then dropped back down to FCS

dropping down was a big topic about ULL and ULM a few years ago

I think both of these schools and their fans who hate on LSU are directing it at the wrong place. They should really hate one another. They seem to love to blame their issues all on LSU. The goal should really be 2nd in Louisiana. That’s realistic. Biased but I believe UL is 2nd by a long shot. Ruston itself is cool and all but it’s still North LA.

ULM existing just makes no sense. It never did. It should be LA TECH, NSU & Grambling in the 318 then LSU, UL, SU & UNO in the south. The rest can be gutted or moved to a trade school/satellite campus of one of the above. Louisiana is not big enough for this many 4 year universities. Period.

I am not even sure what that means. Are you mad because UL fans are at ULM games when they play each other? Or are you mad because UL fans are at non-UL games in Monroe?

Agreed. There's several people on this thread that make no sense whatsoever.

That’s how ULL is too. Which is stupid btw because you can like both LATECH/ULL and LSU. They absolutely do not conflict with one another. Different levels of athletics.

They will forever remain different levels as long as people accept this line of reasoning.

Louisiana is one of the few states in the SEC without two P5 teams. Even Mississippi has two. That will never change as long as the deck continues to the stacked for the "flagship".

Why would they now especially when a bunch of schools from their old conference are headed up? The Wac is reforming and the Texas schools from the southland are joining in the WAC's fbs rejoin.

Idaho only dropped down b/c the Sun Belt kicked them out. They were in the middle of BFE with no conference and almost no teams willing to do home and homes with them. Unless they went to only 4-5 home games a year there was no way for them to survive.

While I agree, you can like both ULM, Tech, ULL or fill in the blank and LSU. That's a no harm no foul mentality since like you said, they really don't cross thread much on the athletic stage other than the odd football game but probably more so in other sports. However, we all know that outcome is already pretty much determined and if LSU should lose it is generally a big upset.

Where I highly disagree with this is when it comes to the money support. If a fan of ULM didn't give a flying frick about LSU and donated all his money to just ULM and didn't spend money going to BR for games, LSU merchandise, etc.. like all good LSU fans do, I am quite positive that ULM would benefit more from that fan giving all that money he would of spent on LSU to ULM.

that had more to do with their stadium. The Kibbie Dome belonged in FCS

I get mailers/emails from the school of construction and Greek life regularly. I’ve never received anything about supporting athletics.

Well I’m glad you aren’t making decisions. If you wanted to make sense the 2 that should stay in North LA are Tech and ULM. Believe it or not ULM has programs like construction management and risk management that are ranked towards the top in all of the country and well above any other university in the state and that’s a fact. Not to mention they also have the only state pharmacy school. For what it is ULM does a great job with academics. Think before you try and hijack a thread that’s about athletics.

But would it really be that big of a loss?
. I’m pretty sure either the AD or the President has said as much. Like they wouldn’t have an athletic program if they weren’t in FBS.

that’s not a state school. You privatize ULM Pharmacy and you’re cutting out quite a few hundred entries into the public state education system every year.

Lol dude don’t be so mad. No one is trying to get you to wear UL gear. What people are discussing is lsu fans wearing lsu gear to games where lsu is not playing. Go in neutral gear if your team is not playing.
Although you could prob wear NW gear to a UL game even if NW is not playing in said game. Because NW is irrelevant.
