Why doesnt Paddy Pimblett get a shot at the title?

i defintely dont understand why he is ranked 12th...i dont know if thats changed since he destroyed Chandler. But besides Jon Jones he has the most potential charisma/antics to make for an exciting fight not to mention the talent level he displayed destroying Chandler. He is 30 years old and his window might pass. i guess its "not fair" to jump a lot of guys in rankings or whatever but it seems to me after watching the replay of his fight the time would be now to make a big fight with him.

Log jam at 155, plenty of guys he needs to beat to get a title shot

He’s only one fight away. He’ll fight Olivera or Gaethje next and if he wins he’ll likely get a title shot or at least fight the loser of Islam and topori

The answer is in you own post. A 12th-ranked prospect without a signature win isn't getting a shot at the title. But the Chandler beat down electrified his stock and he's now an 8th-ranked contender and in a very favorable division to probably get a shot after another top 10 fight or two (most likely an eliminator against Hooker and/or Gaethje), depending on what happens with Islam and Arman.

Between fights be blows up to like 200 pounds I don’t see how he is able to cut back down to 155 over and over. Eventually that takes a toll on body.

Apparently he stopped doing that

What are you on about? You lil sausage.

Ballooning up and down in weight like that destroys your body. It’s totally ruined several boxers and mma fighters.

Is Paddy the barstool guy?

He'll likely get a top 5 fight next and would be in like for a title shot if he wins that.

An easy google would reveal he is up to #8. Well within range for a title shot with 1 more win

After beating Chandler, Paddy himself said he wanted someone in the top 5 first before a title shot. Sensible, actually have to give him credit for not getting carried away with his own hype and demanding a title shot right away.
Topuria said if he wins against Islam, he would fight Paddy after that. Seems like a step down in competition from Islam to Paddy, but that would be a massive money-making fight for UFC.
Paddy looked huge against Chandler, and at 5'7, Topuria is one inch shorter than Chandler.
A Conor-Paddy fight would also be massive. British vs. Irish angle. Old star vs. new star.

Islam has already dispatched the number 1, 2, 5, and 6 contenders and anyone else remaining is on the backside of their prime. Paddy is the only true up-and-comer heading toward his peak. It's easily the most exciting matchup out there. Paddy is on the Erceg/Lopes golden path right now thanks to the current circumstances of the LW division.

They (UFC and Paddy) should be milking things, his mystique falls once he takes an L

You can tell from his physique his last few fights that he's not been getting fat between fights. He's taking his diet more serious now and it's showing. Two years ago I never would have thought he would be as dominate as he has his last two fights. I still don't think he can beat Islam but he definitely has a good chance against most of not all of the top contenders.

I really want Islam to fight Ilia, but I think Ilia should have to win 1 fight in the division before challenging foe the title. I HATE seeing someone move up or down and get an immediate title shot.
Have Paddy fight Ilia for a shot at Islam. Gaethje and Oliveria can fight for next in line after the winner of Paddy/Ilia.

Islam is big, but Topuria walks around at 185, too. It’s not like he’s a small lightweight.
