If they only want 1,2, or 3 rounds and wear swimsuits fine but this team bull crap is what turns me off. Play a tourney see who wins. Start your own Majors legacy maybe have a different type tournament or something. I’ve always thought a match play like the world golf shaped like the ncaa tournament would be a cool major (not for the pga tour with established big 4) but it’s definitely LIVy and not freaking teams

They do play a traditional tournament over 54 holes. The team aspect is a tournament within the traditional tournament. What I really like about LIV is the relaxed atmosphere, and the casual dress code. The players are much more comfortable, and they are having fun. Watch a few rounds and you'll see.

They just also happen to have team events...along with the individual.

It is a horrible format.

Which is why no matter how many big names they poach, it’ll never compare. It’s just a horrible product

They have an individual champion in 13 out of 14 events.

Do you really not know this or does it aggravate you that much that there is a team aspect?

The team competition matters for guys like Adrian Meronk (+4), Carlos Ortiz (+5), etc who are already out of the individual competition after round 1 - but their team is top 2. Their score will count for the team competition on Sunday, so they need to play well

Do all 4 scores count now in the final round?

And if so, is that new? I always thought it was just the top 3 scores per round.

I don't mind the shotgun start, but the team thing is queer, especially how they constantly go on and on about it, and cuts are part of professional golf. I guess hand holding and participation trophies are now part of both tours. You would have thought they would have made changes to the commentary since last year, because it's awful.

Otherwise known as… not serious golf.

Jon Rahm won’t regret taking the $500M. But he will really miss playing serious golf outside of Majors and Ryder cup.

He will gain 100 pounds and have numerous injuries and be out of golf in five years.

I kid, but it would not surprise me.

I don’t watch pro sports to see athletes be comfortable or have fun personally

There is a way to make the team thing work but as it stands now I agree it doesn't work. I think they need an end of the year ryder cup style bracket team match to decide the winner

Ya don’t say? If only they had someone as smart as you.

The Team Competition

This is where it gets really innovative. The Team Championship is decided at the final event of the season, in a knockout format that combines match play and stroke play, creating head-to-heads all over the course. The 13 tournaments during the regular season determine the seeding for the Team Championship.

saying it doesn't compare is just wrong. I am not a huge fan of LIV but if it didn't compare, they wouldn't be poaching all of the biggest tour players. Also if it didn't compare, the PGA wouldn't be busting their asses to merge. Like it or not it is growing big time
