Because Dabo is a clown and always has been. He's an awful in game coach as well. Can't make adjustments for the life of him. And whenever he does win a big game he acts like an idiot. Act like you've been there.

I guess JoePa vacated that win. But Miles still has the loss. So he didn't beat Miles.. But he made Miles lose.

Didn't they beat some good Va Tech teams on their way to a ACC title? Wouldn't winning the ACC be considered big for them?

This is why I don't understand the point of "vacating" wins instead of forfeiting them.

It essentially punishes the non-cheating team.

Dabo has improved by leaps and bounds as a coach. If you can't acknowledge that you're just a homer, and this comes from someone who wanted anyone but Dabo hired and was vehement that he would set our program back ages.

-He's kept our recruiting at the level Bowden got it and has possibly elevated it.

-He's removed the Clemsoning label from Clemson. Granted we haven't played our best games possible in some South Carolina games, and FSU this year, and against WVU, but that's not when the Clemsoning term came about. It came about when we lost to the Marylands and Wake Forests of the world. Clemson has won something like 20 straight games against unranked opponents by double digits, second in the nation only to Dabo. Clemson is consistent under Dabo.

-He's made two incredible Coordinator hires in Venables and Morris, as well as position coach coups in hiring guys like Brooks, Hobby, and Caldwell (all studs).

If he can break through against South Carolina he'll pretty much have checked off everything on the To Do list. Hell the guy has beaten LSU, UGA, Ohio State, Virginia Tech and Florida State since arriving at Clemson. Things could be worse people.

I'd like to see his recruiting focus transition more to the OL/DLs. At the moment he's still a little too enamored with skill players and this has hurt our depth/talent at the two most critical positions in football. Next year we should have an absolutely insane OL/DL pull, but it needs to be an annual event.

He's a rich man's Gene Chizik. Mainly successful because of Chad Morris' offense...

Yes, I do have a soft spot in my heart for Clemson. My grandfather played football there when he was in college.

He's better than Chizik.

Take Chizik's 3 successful seasons at Auburn. Of those 3 seasons, 2010 without a doubt ranks far, far better than the others.

Even though 2009 and 2011 were successful, they were undisciplined and without a consistent winning attitude.

Dabo has been WAY more consistent over the 2011-2013 (2 BCS bowls) seasons than Chizik was between 2009-2011 (1 BCS bowl), even allowing for Chizik's national championship.

For those saying that Dabo sucks without Morris, isn't 2009 kind of a significant outlier (division championship, 9-5, bowl win, ranked at the end of the season)?

I mean, every good coach has a coordinator that completes the coaching staff. I mean, Mack Brown had Greg Davis in 2005. Does that diminish Brown's contribution to the 2005 team?

Did anybody else find it funny that Clemson stormed the field in 2011 after beating Auburn? The same Auburn team that ended the year 8-5?

Dabo Swinney is a mediocre coach that benefits from having a good recruiting base, as of late, and Chad Morris. He's better than Gene Chizik, but they are good comparisons...

Keep in mind that Chizik also benefitted from maybe the greatest QB season in the history of college football. Without Cam Newton, Auburn probably puts together something similar to their 2013 season, or worse.

Put Cam Newton on Clemson's 2013 roster, and they more than likely take home the crystal trophy.

I always love when people say so and so coach only benefits from having a good recruiting base. This just in, you need good players to win and its a lot easier to good players when they are near by.

Also part of the job of HC is hiring assistants so shouldn't he get credit for hiring Morris? Its kind of a lazy argument to say he's only good because so and so is OC or DC. Sure Morris is great and I'm sure he will move on the HC sooner than later. There are other good OC's and potential good OC's out there however. I will be up to Swinney to hire one.

As for Chiz, he was 5-19 in 2 years at Iowa State. He stepped into a pretty good situation at Auburn with some good talent, especially on the OL and of course Newton.

Dabo has posted back to back 11-2 seasons and seems to recruit well. I don't know if he can get them to the next level but we will see. As Gerry D said when he was at LSU, its easier to get from 4-5 wins to 10-11, the hard part is going from 10-11 to 12-13.

that's an apt comparison.

once Morris gets hired away, he'll have Clemson back in 2010 form.

Lulz. You sir are a fvcking idiot. You are one of those people who comes in and asks weekly why so and so is storming the field after beating Maryland.

Certain schools have traditions. At Clemson, the gates are opened after EVERY game and people "rush" onto the field after the game ends and sing the alma mater with the team.

Watch more college football or STFU.
