I always love when people say so and so coach only benefits from having a good recruiting base. This just in, you need good players to win and its a lot easier to good players when they are near by.

This. CFB is 95% talent acquisition. No one says Saban is successful becuase of "a good recruiting base". It would be one of the most asinine, moronic comments of all-time.

Also part of the job of HC is hiring assistants so shouldn't he get credit for hiring Morris? Its kind of a lazy argument to say he's only good because so and so is OC or DC. Sure Morris is great and I'm sure he will move on the HC sooner than later. There are other good OC's and potential good OC's out there however. I will be up to Swinney to hire one.

This. Dabo had a vision at Clemson of a power spread offense that incorporated the QB as a running threat and attacked vertically in the passing game off play action. So what did he do? He went out, researched coaches and found a guy (still relatively unknown) who fit that philosophy to a T.

On defense he identified that we wanted an aggressive, attacking D so he hired a DC from Oklahoma who made Clemson's defense the top defense in the nation this year for TFLs.

What makes you think he can't continue to hire good Coordinators and why don't you give him credit for doing it in the past?

At Clemson, the gates are opened after EVERY game and people "rush" onto the field after the game ends and sing the alma mater with the team.

Watch more college football or STFU.
I'm sorry, but that's pathetic.

Let's storm the field after every win! Yeah!

Uhh, how about losing to Florida State the last couple of years?

I think Dabo's 2-3 against FSU. One of those teams were National Champs. The previous year a Top 10 team.

The 'Big Game' is South Carolina. His only win against them is his interim year. Clemson for the most part has shown up for big games and haven't lost to the Marylands and Wakes since Dabo took over. The team that won the ACC was full of freshman talent and a defensive mess. His coaching style and personality helped that team play better than they realy were.

It's funny to hear about his 'ego'. He really just gets pumped up each game as much as a fan does. He's having a good time.

He is a middle tier coach at a middle tier program. But acts like he is elite. Know your role Dabo.

It's a long time tradition where fans are actually allowed to interact with the players and coaches. They open gates after every game. it's cool to walk out on the 50 under the lights and get a taste of the game day experience. To be honest most of the time it's parents with children and freshmen.

Not pathetic at all.

yeah, they let fans on the field after every game, but after that win against AU in 2011, they RUSHED the field. no denying that and the fact that Dabo acted like he had just won the national championship after beating yall. someone link his post game interview of that

I had to look at Morris' resume again, he was a HS coach for 16 years and OC at Tulsa for 1 year before Dabo hired him at Clemson, but no, he couldn't possibly find another good OC if Morris leaves

Like I said, I think its a lazy argument. Some people probably made up their mind that he wasn't a good coach before and so its easy to say, well he was only good because of Morris.

Middle tier program like LSU was for a long time? Glad we didn't "know our role".

The Gamecocks tore down their own goal posts against New Mexico State. No room to talk.

Wasn't Auburn the defending National Champs? A team from the Big Bad SEC that teams like Clemson are not supposed to be able to beat? I guess the fans and coaches were supposed to know that Auburn would go 8-5

what a shock coming from a South Carolina fan

Rival fans comments are completely worthless in this type of discussion. One of many reasons why I glad LSU doesn't have a true #1 rival.

yes really. I always find it a tad ironic when LSU fans act like programs can never change and improve whether it is Clemson, A&M or whoever, especially programs that have resources. Clemson has had back to back 11 win seasons and did beat some good teams. Last was a tight game with FSU, this year was obviously a beat down and haven't beaten USCe in a while. Now it is up to them to take that next step. I don't know if Swinney is the guy to do it or not, but there is no reason for him to think he/they can't. If guys like Fulmer, Coker, Brown and Miles can win, why can't Dabo?

The same could be said with the Auburn team that DID win the National Championship with a 17-14 win over Miss St and a 37-34 over UK....Needed overtime to beat a 6-7 Clemson.
