20th in yards per completion. Bottom third of the league. speaks for itself. Doesn't need much explanation.

I can't believe that Aaron Rodgers is 25th in YPA. And I'm also surprised that Ben Roethlisberger is only 15th.

Now try to explain how he's not making a living dinking and dunking.

Hate the Saints but I think some of that comes from the fact that they appear to throw in the red zone a lot more often than most teams do. They really like the delayed slant to Michael Thomas in that area.

Brees doesn't have the arm he used to, but he still throws that deep seam route as well as anyone.

GB are a big time dink and dunk team now with Nelson not really being able to get open deep downfield. Lots of dump offs to Montgomery. Cobb. Etc.

Some of the teams beneath them are the worse rushing teams in the league.

GB
BALTIMORE
DETROIT
NYG
MINNESOTA

You're using a stat, that by conventional methods, says inaccuracy doesn't matter.

QB 1: Completes a long pass of 30 yards, but miss the next 5.
He has a yards per completion of 30. But it negates the fact he missed the other 5. His YPA is 5.0

QB 2: By comparison, completes that pass for 30, then the next 5 he hits 2/5 and gets 20 yards. His yards per completion is 16.7, whereas his YPA is 8.3

by your argument, QB 1 is 'better' and doesn't 'dink and dunk'
By your argument the QB2 gets penalized for hitting easier passes in his progression.

I'm using a stat that shows the impact of his passes that are actually caught. since we know he completes passes at the highest rate we can see the yards per completion to tell that he is throwing shorter passes than 2/3 of the league. Making the people who say he doesn't dink and dunk clown shows. Does he always dink and dunk?? No. but he does more than 2/3 of the league and certainly more than any other qb who is considered elite 'cept for Rodgers this year.

IN summary:

High completion rate, low yards per completion: Dink and Dunk

Low completion rate, high yards per completion: This kinda guy is going downfield with the ball

Yet two of the best deep passers and guys who attempt the most deep passes are not even top 10 (cousins and brees)...

Was waiting for someone to come back. This has gone like a boxing match where you know the fighter should throw in the towel.. but he doesn't. And when he comes out for the next round you know the KO is coming. Here is the KO gents.

Average yards in the air per pass attempt.

Only Sam Bradford and Alex smith are lower.

LINK

No need to respond or twist and turn Brees dinks and dunks more than any qb but Sam Bradford/Smith.

Isn't there a Saints board? Hate Matt Ryan over there. He's having an MVP caliber season and is even going to get Daddy's boy a few looks at HC. Which is laughable.

This board will have an unprecedented meltdown if Matt Ryan won the MVP when Beees has never won one
