Peak Pedro is very likely the best pitcher to ever exist.
The guy had FOUR fricking unhittable out pitches! That's not fair, not even in the big leagues.

Not A bad list and I am not sure if you ever saw him pitch but Mike Marshall pitched in 106 games in 1974.. An AMAZING number in those days for A reliever...........

our lifetimes, for sure.
his overall numbers are exceeded by a few other great ones but his peak years were brilliant. this is true of Carlton and Koufax too.

Live I've seen some good pitchers. Probably not the best but it was fun watching them.
Juiced up Andy Pettite
Arrieta
Mark Prior on a rehab stint before it all fell apart for good.

Maddux 92-95'
if a computer calls balls and strikes he is nothing special those years.
he didn't have to throw strikes. hiss. boo.

Not disputing Pedro in his prime but in the 70's Steve Carlton was 27-10 for a Phillies team that won only 59 games that year. ERA under 2. Pretty impressive.

Saw Nolan Ryan pitch as an Astro years ago.
Saw Clemens pitch the night after his mother passed away. He threw a 2 hit shutout. MMP was electric that night.

This is better than any pitcher I have EVER seen for A single season... It was 1972... He won 27 games on A team that only won 59 games.... And had 37 decisions in his starts...An AMAZING season for ONE pitcher on such a terrible team..........

The question was "Who is the best MLB pitcher you've ever seen" I saw both of these guys pitch and they were both pretty special!

Greg Maddux. Dude threw 85-88 constantly and would 1-2 hit teams. shite was retarded.

This.
His second half of 03 (or 04 forgot the exact year) was unreal. Best short term stretch I've ever seen.

Peak Pedro for me. He was dominant and made hitters look bad a lot of the time. And he was cocky.
Smoltzie was close to Pedro in regards to "stuff", but he wasn't as consistently dominant as Pedro.
Maddux was an artist who let the hitters get themselves out a lot by keeping them off balance.
Kershaw is quickly moving up my list, tho. Let's see how he performs over the next 2-3 years.

For the old timers, Sandy Koufax is the choice.
I still have to say Mariano Rivera. Everyone know what pitch he was going to throw yet nobody could hit it. That just boggles my mind.

Maddux, no question. In his prime he could make the batter hit it where he wanted them to. You want a pop up on the first base side? You got it. He was incredible. Pedro's prime was just a tad under Maddux's.
