I’m sure he was good. Not arguing your selection. But this is what I meant when I said you gotta be really old to remember these guys.

You coulda said Shamus McShaughnessy or Ebenezer McWhorter, Big Wheeler Pennypacker, and it would sound the same to me.

Riggins was an unstoppable force when at his best. He could run over you or past you.

Probably not the 'best' but I love the Rocky Bleier story of the Pittsburg Steelers of the 1970s.

Wounded in the Vietnam War. Was told that he would never be able to play football again. Shot in the left leg and received shrapnel from a grenade in the other leg.

Came back and blocked for Franco Harris and was a 4-time Superbowl Champion.

He, John Riggins, and Larry Csonka are the trifecta of badass white dude RBs in the NFL. Regardless of stats I would not have wanted to try and tackle any of them on their worst day, and I was 6'0 and about 225 in my prime.

Just want to add Hokie Gajan's name to the list. But I'll add my vote for John Riggins.

OP is young and doesn't realize it.

Csonka and Riggins would like a word.

Agreed, and I'd guesstimate that 90% of people who saw both of them play would say the same

No, no, I am aware that I am young. Think I didn't realize how old some of you are.
