But you could tell that he was tremendously intelligent too. Same with Glavine and Smoltz.

Anyone in this thread saying Drew Brees is a POS has had their brain broken. He has always, by all accounts, been a good dude. Geez.

Drew Brees is NOT a POS at all

He is by all accounts a great guy

Just a huge disappointment when he had a golden opportunity to stand up for his values, he completely fumbled it

Met a couple people that have met the Stocktons said their whole clan are ruthless assholes.

Still one of my top favorite athletes of all time.

Brett Favre.

Not only a sleezeball, but also a swindling a-hole.

I lost a lot of respect for Brees and how he handled things at the end of his career with the BLM nonsense, but I just cannot fathom him being anything but a genuine good guy.

I covered MLB a fair bit in 20 years as a sports writer. With some notable exceptions ... like the great Braves' 1990s pitching staffs ... baseball players always struck me as being the dumbest and most juvenile pro athletes because so many of the greatest ones come right out of high school (or the Dominican jungles) right into the pros so they don't have a chance to grow up, then they get tossed into a sport that's like a traveling boys club for nine months from spring training to the post season.

My cousin pitched for the Pirates in the early 90's and he told me the same, as did Luis Gonzalez. Gonzo called MLB a "frat mentality" and it wasn't a compliment.

Well you have realize that taking a position that is not conservative, can get you the bad mouth around here.

For sure. I guess for me, I don’t equate that with being a piece of shite and comparing them to people who embezzle funds or beat their spouse.

Idk how surprising it is I guess but I was disappointed about the news that Josh Hamilton abused his kid.

Ryan Giggs for me. Had a longtime affair with his sister-in-law.

This. Guy was doing anything he could to win one last Super Bowl ring and made a terrible and desperate decision bending the knee to clowns to save his locker room. But to answer this thread, coach Joe Paterno.

Don’t see Joe Paterno mentioned.

Not an athlete but what he covered up was absolutely awful.

Nevermind. Literally a few posts up. Surprised it wasn’t first page.

Years of goodwill and literally helping to save the franchise, and city, are somehow overshadowed because he was pressured by his teammates to kneel.

You’re an idiot. He was simply standing by his guys. It doesn’t shatter his character you clowns. Yall are really brainwashed. Get over the politics shite. You can’t live you’re entire lives thru a political lens good lord.
