Been looking at tickets. They seem higher than when I went to NFL, NBA, MLB, and NHL games. Am I missing something? Is it just like the 5 popular players have raised prices. Are people really paying these prices or are they all jacked up prices and greatly reduced on game day ?

Like most sporting events im sure they're mass selling to scalpers/handing out freebees instead of selling at a reasonable price.
The sporting event bubble is the next big one imo teams are artificially increasing ticket prices because they'd rather them go unsold then sell low.
If you look at the season averages almost no one is selling out every game even the fever

Just go to your local Y.
Better product there.

Jerry/Avery are the only two homos that go to WNBA games. Ask them

Well yeah if you could pay $100 to get in you’d be pissed if the person next to you paid $20…

I might pay $100 to get out of having to go to a WNBA game.

Leave me out of this. I have only been to one WNBA game, and it was in Los Angeles when the Sparks played. Cannot even remember who they played. I was a teenager then, and my cousin was playing at halftime. But thanks for playing!

Imagine admitting and wanting to spend money on a WNBA game

More demand is causing the prices to rise. More people (but not that much) are coming out to WNBA games.
The powers that be for WNBA probably feel like they can charge more at the moment. Whether there really are more people coming out though remains to be seen. Prices will adjust accordingly just like any other business.
I am very surprised they are still solvent though. I hear they are being subsidized by NBA (not sure).
I watched a few games with Clark early on but quickly lost interest when it seemed that almost of WNBA to me is just not a high skill league.
If I was in a WNBA town and someone had tickets and I had absolutely nothing to do, I *might* go to a game. Probably not though.
For some reason, most women sports just don't appeal to me though I can understand if others like it. I know watching women's soccer can be good at times. Volleyball isn't bad. But for some reason, I just can't get into it.

Could be the analytical aspect of revenue from ticket prices vs selling out an arena.
If you can sell 20,000 tickets at $20 a pop but now want to bump the prices up to $50 a ticket, you only need to sell 8,000 seats to hit the same revenue stream. So as long as they are hitting that 8k+ benchmark, why would they reduce the price?

Last I saw they were still subsidizing somewhere between $10-15M, and they owned ~40% of the league.

The idea that WNBA tickets would be costly would seem to violate all economics laws of supply and demand. Unless they assume that the few people who are stupid enough to want a WNBA ticket will also be stupid enough to not care what the price is.
Anyway, why are you even looking at WNBA ticket prices? You couldn't get me to go to a WNBA game for free. Heck, you couldn't even pay me to go to a WNBA game.

It has to be a scam
(6-19) Seattle Storm @ (7-16) Chicago Sky at 11am on a Wednesday & cheapest tickets are $80+/each
That makes no sense
Then you have (17-7) Golden State @ (14-9) Indiana Fever at 7pm tonight & cheapest tickets are <$10/each

Do they base ticket prices on race and sexual orientation yet?
Posted on 7/15/26 at 10:24 am to Stamps74
Why would you look at tickets?

You are the first person I’ve ever heard who was looking at WNBA ticket prices

That’s just for tickets. 20k verses 8k buying merch, concessions the amount that would bring in.

They are and always have been HEAVILY subsidized by the NBA and still hemorrhage money even now at their alleged height of success. they would not have made it 5 years without that. And the players seem to be completely ignorant of the fact, as they constantly demand to be paid like their male counterparts.
In addition to the NBA just flat out financing directly with money they "encourage" advertisers that advertise with them to advertise with the WNBA so that the WNBA can get add money they absolutely would not otherwise.
