So as long as they are hitting that 8k+ benchmark, why would they reduce the price?
Parking. Concessions (especially if they sell beer and a regular fella was forced to go)

20k verses 8k buying merch, concessions the amount that would bring in.
Still goes back to the analytics. On average how much "extra" do they sell per fan (mech, concessions, parking...) vs how much more would they spend to fully staff the stadium. Add that to the average number of extra tickets they need to sell, and it may make sense to keep prices up.
While it's not as straight forward as I put in my original response, you do have to factor in overhead savings for fewer people as well. Have attended a few college basketball games for both the men & women's teams. When the men were playing, there were more people in the stands, and every concession stand was opened and fully staffed. For the women's games, a lot fewer people, but they also had sections closed off, and not every concession stand was open.

Tickets are much more expensive for 3 reasons
Caitlin Clark
Little Girls wanting to see Caitlin
The public (outside of TigerDroppings) is willing to pay that price.

Quick google glance says this is true.
Average attendance last 4 years
2023: 6,615
2024: 9,807
2025: 10,986
2026: 11,151
Looks like raising ticket prices is the smart move

And the players seem to be completely ignorant of the fact, as they constantly demand to be paid like their male counterparts.
They aren't ignorant of it, they just don't give a shite....which is arguably worse. If women were played like men and the nba owners had to subsidize that too, that would be then end of the wnba

It’s the Clark effect, ticket prices have skyrocketed since she came into the league.
I have been a season ticket holder for the last 10 years and have noticed a gradual climb but seemed to peak when Clark entered the league
Still worth it to see some high level of talent on a nightly basis.

Watching the exploitation of little girls being marketed Caitlin Clark really makes me question pretty much every other industry as they've likely engaged in similar bullshite
