Punting a football is pretty damn hard to do well.

Golf is the go to but I'm not arguing with the baseball-hitting example as #1..but I will say returning a serve in tennis is probably on the same level

its estimated only 5% of high school pitchers throw 90+. I think its less likely than you think.
They had 3-4 per year at my high school when I was in school. They were nationally ranked, though.
But I do think it is being exaggerated here. I think the number of guys consistently over 90 in-state is probably around 10-12 or so.

Getting around on a live fast ball and launching it into orbit is still the best to me.
Granted I didn’t do it often so maybe that’s why lol

Golf is tough because it's a solo sport - no team to back you up - and the mental part of the game is really challenging. My Nephew can hit a 6 iron 200 yards but he hasn't had an eagle yet - he plays golf all the time and takes lessons - and is on the varsity team. I've had a hole in one and more eagles than I can count - bc I don't care.

I've told the story before, but I tried to block a division one level defensive end after my tight end said some pretty racist shite to him.
He picked me up and threw me. I don't mean that as some sort of hyperbole, the dude basically shot put me 3 plus yards back.

The key with a kick serve is to close the distance rapidly - I played a lot of kick servers back in the day and if you get on top of them quick they aren't that bad - you can also see them coming from a mile away - which is why pros don't use them. You can pummel a kick serve if you know what you're doing.
It's a trick serve and pretty worthless vs anyone that can actually play tennis. I'd rather blast a flat serve at 140 mph.

Boxing. We used to box as physical training in the Marines
Was this at Pendleton?
I got into boxing coincidently from my Uncle who also boxed in the USMC but this was in between WWII and Korea. He was a legit amateur and probably could have made the Olympics but he lost most of his hand in Korea thus ending a promising career as a potential pro. However he ended up opening a boxing gym in West Monroe, LA afterwards and trained hundreds of guys, a few world champs, and me. I will concur, boxing is a very difficult sport in order to get good at. It's takes an assine amount of endurance to maintain good technique all while getting beat on. However, I am going to go a step further and say MMA is probably the most difficult sport I can think of since I got into BJJ once I hung my boxing gloves up. MMA covers so many disciplines including boxing that it is almost like playing a painful cardio infused game of chess.

I played football and wrestled. I wrestled Div 2 up in Colorado for a year with a bunch of all Americans and got just beat up for that year. But training for wrestling is harder than any of these.

Rock climbing
Has ratings though. You can definitely make it harder on yourself by going off route, but still. Trying to climb a 5.12b isn’t necessarily ’hard’ to someone who doesn’t climb well because they can’t even get on it…like literally make one move or do anything, not even simply grab on. Difficult implies you maintain some non-zero probability of doing it…no one is walking up to a 5.12+ climb, which is light years from the hardest rock climbs, and even getting off of the ground. Difficult isn’t the word.
Slack lining is difficult.

I remember when Becker first came on the scene. Top 100 players in the world would literally just walk away from the baseline and joke with the crowd conceeding they couldn't return his serve.
He was so ahead of the curve at the time and he was just a teenager.
Maybe like facing Bob Feller when he was a teenager and batters baffled someone could throw so fast.
But bombers in tennis and flamethrowers in baseball are exceedingly rare outliers. Phenoms don't really count in this thread. None of us have experienced it.
But we've all experienced not being able to hit a ball consistently that doesn't move, doesn't spin, just lays on the ground looking like child's play.

This thread is an example on why baseball players are the best athletes in the world

I saw a video on YouTube were they took 5 guys of different levels of skill and had them play Brian Scalabrine 1 on 1. Each of them thought they could take him. He absolutely destroyed all of them.
Yeah and some of these guys are playing in Europe leagues so we aren't talking some guys from the rec center

You have obviously never partaken in a game of ice hockey.
