What in the world is going down in Waco? (Update: Player found guilty of sexual assault)

Pretty sickening article on the way Baylor has handled the current rape investigation of a current member of the Football team, along with other previous issues. I don't believe there's anything the NCAA can do, but this is not a good look for the program.

They lost all credibility when they let that dude play on their womens basketball team.

We are talking about the athletic program that had David fricking bliss as a coach

Their basketball program is the most shady of them all
Scott Drew is a crook, he makes John Calipari look like a saint

But, but, but, we're a good Christian school!

They had a basketball coach try to cover up a murder so I'm not surprised the school would treat a rape like this.

The reason they were so bad for so long is that they had character standards that their students had to meet, they got tired of losing and dropped those standards, their trial balloon was the basketball team, they took in a lot of risk players and it paid off.
They then relaxed the standards for football, taking in a lot of character risks and it has paid off as well. But it will come crashing down eventually
It starts with the head coaches, Drew and Briles are both slime. Gary Patterson and Art Briles get compared to each other a lot but Patterson to me seems like a decent man outside of football while Briles comes across as a snake oil salesman.

I would still disagree here.

I'm no fan of Baylor but that article is really bias.
Silence at Baylor is the name of the article which the author is quoted-
"No one questioned it because no one outside of Baylor knew."
"It took eight months for Ukwuachu to be indicted, but that indictment also went unreported for more than a year."
Baylor is a private school, but Texas law does not shield arrests at private schools. Everything was public record, " Yet still, it would seem no local reporters on the Baylor beat managed to make the trip to the downtown courthouse to type the name “Ukwuachu” to confirm if the rumors were true."That is not on Baylor, that is on the press.
Second Transparency was further muddled when Laborde(DA) filed for, and received, a gag order preventing herself, Sibley, or Ukwuachu from talking to the press. In fact, almost no one connected with the case was willing to speak on the record.
So Baylor had an investigation made everything public, but no one from the press made a public record request and then the DA's office got a gag order.
I have a problem with people getting upset at universities that do nothing about sexual assault cases, when they haven't been convicted of the crime. We have all seen what has happened at both Duke & UVA.
What did Baylor do wrong? He hasn't been convicted of a crime; yet he hasn't played a down in the two years while at Baylor. What if he is found innocent?

One wonders who is paying for his defense, led by the son of a former state senator (both of whom are big Baylor backers).
Even his website sports Baylor colors:

I never see them compared to each other, except for the fact that they're both head football coaches at "small" Christian schools in Texas.

They are run by Baptists what do you expect?

Yeah, if only Baylor could aspire to TCU's level of lawfulness nd have half of its team involved in a meth ring. and its star player repeatedly beat up his girlfriend before public finally got Patterson to kick him off the team. You can think whatever you want of Baylor, but to then hold up TCU as some paragon of virtue is a sick joke.
And honestly, the problem people have with Baylor is simple: they aren't supposed to be good and now they are, and it pisses everyone off. Also, they were the only school willing to stand up to Texas when they were threatening to move to the Pac-12. Everyone else cowered and prayed, while Baylor actually acted, and forced Texas' hand. They saved the Big 12 by being unafraid of being the "bad guys."
