I don't care what he needs to do, or who ever gets into the hall of joke. I just find it mildly amusing that your post was just as much about somehow making this about LSU, or LSU fans, as it was about Derrick Henry.

who’s the last RB that was “elite” passed that age for more than 1 season Walter Payton? Peterson had one great season after 28 (1485 yds in 2016) and he missed the entire year before for off the field stuff.

28 isn’t that old

30 would be another story

Fair enough, guess it’s just the rushing leader that is rarely over 28 lately No one but AD in 2015 in the last 15 years or so. If Henry has 4 years like Thomas Jones from 28-31 (btw Thomas Jones and elite makes me lol) he’s a lock for Canton

I mean his 30/31yr old seasons were pretty good.

Not elite, but if he can do it, how rare is it, ya know

I’d call 1300/1400 yds and 13/14 TDs elite seasons, that is pretty rare at 30 and 31, especially for a guy that did basically nothing his first 4 years at RB though maybe that extended his career length, strange career arc to be sure

ETA compare to Tomlinson, absolutely dominated for his first 7 years then at 29 his worst season 1110 yards that was his last 1000 yd season

No - it isn’t.

He has work to do.

Good luck to him though.

The Hyperbole in this time period in history would make Homer (not Simpson) blush.

Everything that happened a minute ago is the greatest thing ever.

You know what he has to do? Win some fricking SBs.

That will get him in like Terrell Davis. Flash in the pan. Otherwise is he going to have a career like Walter Payton? I don't think so. Dude's not going to play long.

So he needs the TD route...put up big numbers when the league doesn't stack the line because of the wide open easy passing game.

Aesthetically? Talent-wise? He's not special if you consider, falling forward special? He ain't no Gayle Sayers, Walter Payton, OJ and especially BARRY.

If Kamara stays out of jail that will be his biggest threat to Him not setting himself apart. It is crazy to think with Henry being so good, but he is not on a flashy team either to make up for methodical work rushing the ball.

Kamara is the more flashy new era RB. He has made the pro-bowl all 5 seasons, ROY, and made all-pro twice.

Yea Kamara has a chance to eclipse 10,000 yards and 95 TDs before he ever turns 29. His career TD number in particular could be pretty compelling with another 2-3 years at his current pace.

He and cam Jordan and two guys whose legacy will really be hurt by the no call and never getting to a super bowl. If either one of those guys showed out in a super bowl win their career would have an entirely different gloss than it does at the moment.

It’s definitely going to be interesting to see how guys like Kamara and CMC get talked about with regards to the HOF. Both of them are capable of putting up elite total yardage and TD numbers.

Henry, as elite of a runner as he is, could be viewed as the 3rd or 4th “best” back of this current crop.

Yea that 99 yard TD run by Henry has a spot on any list of greatest individual effort TDs in nfl history. When he is going it’s just awesome to watch.

I wanted to upvote you but the weird reference to LSU, something I don’t even remember, makes me think you are just a butthurt Alabama fan.

This thread has convinced me Shaun Alexander should be a HOFer. He is the only person with more than 100 TDs that is not a HOF(Fitzgerald, Peterson and Gates are all getting in).

He had 5 straight seasons of plus 1600 yards from scrimmage and plus 16 touchdowns, including one of the greatest seasons ever by a RB in 2005.

He should be in.

2 more pro bowl seasons and he's a lock. 3 or 4 more seasons and he's 1st ballot.

Maybe Ricky Watters as well.

10,643 rushing yards

4,248 receiving

91 TD's altogether

I don’t remember making the thread.

Had a day off and went HAM.

I think it was an attempt to be silly and lure my friend LSUpride into a conversation.

Hell idk.
