Their lineup next year could very well be:
Pg: smart/rozier
Sg: hayward/brown
Sf: tatum/brown
Pf: Lebron/morris
C: horford/baynes

Damn, that lineup is going undefeated if Horford can play quality minutes.

It’s okay for Lebron to join an ECF team notwithstanding the two injured all stars, but KD is a pussy.

What would they give up to make it worth it for Cleveland with no assurance that Kyrie stays past next season?

Hit me up whenever

Court across the street from my crib. 1v1. Game to 21. Spot you 3 points and the rock.

If we're talking about Lebron to Boston, it'll have to be a sign and trade, so Cleveland will need to take back matching salary.

Where does your gut tell you he lands? LeBron, not Kyrie.

my gut tells me it wants Chinese food.

I truly don't know.

Gun to my head I say Lakers but with no confidence. If winning is priority #1, he wouldn't go there. But I think Houston is nearly impossible and I just don't see him in Philly for some reason, so LAL is basically the default "guess"

lebron goes to boston
kyrie goes to the lakers
al horford and kuzma and a future laker pick to the cavs

i think all three teams agree to that

i just think this is personally a little overblown. the lakers are getting paul george and already have a semblance of something with ingram and randle. if the lakers can find a way to keep randle, that is a very legitimate team with lebron. and even then, they will have trade assets to possibly work a trade for kawhi or maybe lillard who isnt being talked about enough. and even if they only land george and lebron, they will be involved in kawhis free agency next year, which admittingly lebron may not be interested in wating for

i guess my point is people seem to be forgetting the lakers have cap space and young tradeable assets that make this roster very flexible and could very easibly turn into a legit "win now" roster

In all of this, I think horford has to stay. He's the ideal big for Lebron.

I think it might be more of:

Lebron to Boston
Kyrie to LA Lakers
Rozier, kuzma, one of the plentiful picks from Boston, and filler to cleveland

Lebron gets his team
Lakers get their superstar to pair with Paul George
Cleveland gets 2 young quality talented players to rebuild, a pick to help that out as well.

Only team to flake might be Boston. Cleveland gets something or Lebron leaves and they get nothing.

Guess I'm right there with you. There are just too many possible options on the table. I (also with basically zero confidence) think he stays in the East, probably Boston or Philly.

West is dicey. Houston would have to give up too many pieces to remain a title contender even with him, methinks. And D'Antoni isn't a good coach. Lakers is promising from a marketing standpoint but unless he brings some superfriends with him, that's out. Of course my heart wants him in SA but we don't even know if we'll keep Kawhi so there's too many questions there (plus we have trouble attracting top FAs anyways so it's all a pipe dream, really). NOLA could work, but I'm not as up to speed on their financials or anything so idk. Him and Brow would be legit.

Goddamn this is going to be an interesting offseason.

Agree on the second point.

My gut's telling me Kawhi stays here.

True. Lot more moving parts in that equation, though. Not outside the realm of possibility in today's NBA, of course, just would take a lot of parties pulling in the same direction.

I know it's not. I have to actually look at the numbers, but with Kyrie coming to Lakers they need to send out money. Same with Boston.

the lakers have the cap space so they wouldnt have to match kyries salary. boston and cleveland will have to match though

very true. but as you touched on and what i was saying, this isnt really a ridiculous feat to pull off like some other possible scenarios. definitely not easy, but legitimately possible
