What are the odds of LeBron to NOLA, and would that work?

Saw a lot of this popping up on twitter last night. Him with AD seems like an intriguing and scary pairing, and if Rondo is still around, there's his point guard.

Sorry if already discussed elsewhere.

ETA I guess the bigger question would be do they have the money?

He wants a HI IQ team. Outside of rondo I’ve never heard of any pels being lauded for their hoops iq.

The Pels are right at the salary cap even without Boogie under contract for next season. They would have to trade about $30 million in contracts with $0 coming back to be able to open up a max slot for Lebron

I’ve read that Boston is more likely than Houston in this race, and the under the radar team to watch out for.

If you were LeBron, and you were looking for the best opportunity to win championships, would you honestly think your best route to get there would be to join up with Alvin Gentry and the Pelicans?

The truth is that this is nonsense. LeBron will go where LeBron wants to go. And the truth of the matter is that none of these journalists and talking heads have any clue where he’s gonna go.

LeBron might not even know for sure yet where he wants to go.

This kind of information is just talking heads expressing their own personal guesses. Boston isn’t an “under the radar” team because LeBron is seriously considering them... they’re “under the radar” because the talking heads just decided that in their own mind.

Long story short, these people on TV don’t have a clue what is going through LeBron’s head.

From a legacy standpoint, I think it’s a solid move for him. He would pair up with his best teammate to date, would have a player coach and a on-court coach, and would have the potential to take a championshipless franchise to a title.

That said, zero percent chance it happens.

LeBron, Suh and Gronk all bought houses in the same neighborhood.

I know LeBron isn't coming to New Orleans...

but you don't think a team of Rondo, Jrue, LeBron, Mirotic, and AD with Moore, Miller, Clark, and Hill (by default) would be a good opportunity to win? You would be putting 3 of the top defenders, 2 of the top scorers, 3 of the top assist guys, 4 guys who shoot >49% from the field on the same team.

The best route? Nah

But I 100% believe Lebron to NOLA would be a better route to a title than Lebron/PG13 to the Lakers.

I'd imagine Mirotic and a couple of those filler pieces would have to be shipped to make the mythical Lebron to NOLA thing work.

Exactly. Lebron plus brow and evil Jrue is a top 3-4 option for him from a chance to win perspective. The others being Houston, philly , Boston imo.

Paul George isn’t getting him any closer to a title than he’s at now.

Eta: this is if some unforeseen crazy superfriends series of trade demands doesn’t occur.

I've thought about this for the last few weeks. It isn't close to happening, but just from a basketball standpoint, it makes a ton of sense than some of the other destinations. AD is a top 3 player in the league. Youd have 2 of the top 3, plus Jrue. Resigning Rondo and Niko would be key.

Running out a 5 of
Rondo
Jrue
LeBron
Niko
AD

Isnt bad at all. It just wont happen bc of other reasons
