Wonder why you would hire someone who is the strength and conditioning coach? Surely he has extensive coaching experience that’s not being reported
What I posted on the Coaches Changes Board:
My son is on the team. This was the players' choice too. I don't know you can justify hiring someone that has never called plays before.
I will say this, he was the most dialed in and professional of the coaches on staff. He seems to care about the players and making them better. The players love him. I think he would have been a great hire if he had been a DC for a few years.
Also, he is almost as country as Xavier Legette.

I wonder what’s going on at Lakeshore that he doesn’t want to be there?

Yes, but....
This was also the good Ole boys choice. Multiple coaches were told they couldn't change any of the staff if they took the job. This was about West Monroe making sure no outsider would have any influence over "their program".
All of the names mentioned earlier... Yes. All turned it down. The principal made it so unattractive that he couldn't be blamed when they settled for the status quo.
They're not going to be any more successful, but it won't be Dizers fault. They just are putting his nameplate on the office door and going about business as usual. This is what Don Shows had to overcome to win there, and now they've reverted back to pre-shows with better facilities and some talent. They will never compete for a state championship again.

Well there’s posts on sportline that have been talking about that for the last few weeks is what I mean

The good old boys network that did nothing for over 4 decades. I was a student at WM when Shows was hired and he burned it down and rebuilt it in his image. Damn shame the money men are back at it and figured they had all died off by now. Let's see what the new coach does.

This is hyperbole…

Odd hire for sure. Never even been a coordinator. Those fans will turn on him fast if he can’t beat Ruston or Neville. I wish the young man luck.

I don't think anything is wrong with Lakeshore, they're consistently good. Sometimes guys just want to take a shot at the big time and see what they can do.

To be fair, it’s a lot easier in a world with Zoom

Huh? Brent has won at every stop and quickly. He will be a HOF coach in LHSAA
He took Abbeville as far as they could go, beat ND with Crowley the first time he faced them, brought Kaplan as far as they’ve been, took Carencro to the Dome his 2nd year, had a helluva run with CHNi with multiple Dome appearances including a win. Been to the semis with Lakeshore.
Be hard pressed to find a coach that has shown the ability to identify the best positions for his roster at so many stops and put them in a position to win as quickly as he has.
Best coaching job I think I’ve ever seen was in a loss to Calvary Baptist in the Dome vs Shea Patterson and several D-1 kids they had. Clearly outmanned, he put CHNI one 2 minute drive away from victory down by 3. 80% of their offensive production was guard around plays.
If he truly considered taking the WM job and they hesitated, it’s their loss. History “shows” they would have been quickly competing for a championship again.

This hire shows that WM is not serious about winning
WM is the pre-Sark Texas Longhorns of the LHSAA

Brewerton never expressed interest nor would he move to Funroe. Y’all just throwing all the names in or what? I mean unless he told me a lie.

Maybe not this time around. But last time they interviewed he definitely had interest. Unless he drove all the way to Natchez just for a free meal.

To be fair, it’s a lot easier in a world with Zoom Interviewing doesn’t always imply in person over lunch in 2024
