Relative to BLM, a dust up would be over exaggeration

There's repercussions for views aligning with the right and there's none for views aligning with the left. I think the hypocrisy of it all is what makes people angry, but they end up lashing out at the wrong people.

Because people combat that hypocrisy by being hypocrites themselves.

It's a vicious cycle and everyone looks like crazed lunatics because of it.

Me saying January 6 was more than a dust up is probably the truest statement in this whole thread

Agreed. But it wasn't. It's as simple as this: From the politicians' point of view, businesses and cities razed over a drug addict were no big deal. Some even encouraged it. But, when the angry mob was at their doorstep, it was time to build fences and form committees. If you can't see what's wrong with that...

Sports is politics and politics are sports, they will always be involved with each other.

I also said it was bad. However, it just goes to show that liberals like yourself are going to find a way to talk about Jan 6 as opposed to other things that caused way more harm. Even the guys like Keys are trying to be objective but still talk about a Walgreens while omitting police stations and federal court houses.

For posting a tweet. That he violated their policies and procedures. He practiced free speech, but the Redskins/Commanders are not the government, so he has no free speech expectation.

It's ridiculous that everyone has to take a side these days when none of that shite actually matters.

You already know the answer to that.

But if you're going to stay mum on any social issue, you better have balls of steel. If you pick a side, you'll at least have supporters to go along with the detractors.

If you don't, you'll have detractors from each side, and even some in the middle accusing you of being too cowardly to pick a side.

t least 11 Americans have been killed while participating in political demonstrations this year and another 14 have died in other incidents linked to political unrest, according to new data from a non-profit monitoring political unrest in the United States.

Nine of the people killed during protests were demonstrators taking part in Black Lives Matter protests. Two were conservatives killed after pro-Trump patriot rallies. All but one were killed by fellow citizens.

quote:

Lee Keltner, a navy veteran who made custom western hats, was shot after a “patriot rally” in Denver on 10 October. Video and photographs of the incident appear to show Keltner slapping a security guard for a local news crew, who responds by pulling out a gun and shooting him.

Aaron “Jay” Danielson, a far-right Trump supporter, was shot after a rally in Portland in August. Danielson’s suspected killer, Michael Reinoehl, was a leftwing protester who called himself an “anti-fascist”, and who was later shot to death by law enforcement officials, an outcome Donald Trump referred to as “retribution”.

Garrett Foster was reportedly carrying an AK-47 rifle when he was shot to death in July by an armed man who had been driving a car through a crowd of Black Lives Matter protesters in Austin. Whether Foster threatened the driver with his gun is still disputed. The man who shot and killed Foster, the US army sergeant Daniel Perry, had previously tweeted “Now is the time to take up arms and protect yourselves against violence” and responded to a Trump tweet in June about “protesters, anarchists, agitators, looters” by saying, “Send them to Texas we will show them why we say don’t mess with Texas.”

quote:

n Louisville, the photographer Tyler Gerth was shot and killed at a downtown park where protesters gathered. The alleged shooter, Steven Nelson Lopez, was homeless and had a history of severe mental illness, and had reportedly been asked to leave the park earlier because of his behavior. Many of the protesters in the park were armed and on edge, and returned fire when Lopez started shooting, local news outlets reported.

LINK

Then you have Rittenhouse

If you feel like looking up the rest, go for it, although the trend seems to be trigger-happy people and extremists on both sides shooting each other, more than anything else.

I don't disagree, but this isn't an "everybody does it" situation. You've got essentially all of entertainment, all of news media, all of sports, all of education, etc all not just in lockstep spouting the same thing but telling anyone in their ranks that if they don't ALSO speak up they're committing violence.

I wish they'd all shut up, but when I say that I mean the 98% on the Left and the 2% on The Right. Of course people on the Right rally around these lone voices when they speak up because they know there will be a swift attempt to destroy them by the machine and it's odd to hear a voice that differs from the pack.

There would need to be a HUGE concerted effort to get the Left to shut up for a while to even approach 50/50, so until that time I can't very well get worked up over guys like Del Rio garnering attention here. Asking guys like him to shut up is basically asking for total compliance, because the Left will not simply stop talking in the absence of a counter narrative.

That was my nice way of not calling you a fricking liar for putting words in his mouth and continuing going back and forth after showing what you'd done with quotes. It felt pointless, so laying it out there for others to see was as much effort as I wanted to add to that.
