See this is the absurdity of Del Rio’s claim
If the US Capitol had been burned down, while all of Congress is present for the electoral college process, that would have been the biggest story of our lifetimes.

Serious question... Had Del Rio said the exact opposite (that the Floyd protests were good, but the Capital storming was bad), would there be posters in here wishing we kept politics out of sports? Because that's what I want one way or the other. It's ridiculous that everyone has to take a side these days when none of that shite actually matters.
That ship sailed

How dare you compare this to the atrocities of violent criminals taking pictures in Nancy Pelosi’s office

But it wasn’t, it was 200 idiots that broke into it and were quickly detained by the rassis police.
The other one was months long, swept the country, and was praised by the elites and woke. Neither were good, nor were they remotely comparable.
But of course, in your mind, we need to make Jan 6 a huge deal, have investigations, and then do nothing about Dianne Feinstein having a Chinese spy on her staff for 20 years.

So you don't want something unless you agree with it?
That's some liberal bullshite.

The tribalism is just flat out pathetic. You have people saying the riots were the worst thing ever but 1/6 was just proud Patriots showing they were upset with the direction of this country. And then others that 1/6 was a disgrace but the riots were just people expressing economic anxiety and unrest because of covid lockdowns. I don’t know how anyone can say these things with a straight face. Of course, plenty of people create online personas just to troll, but that can’t be applied to Del Rio. People have lost the ability to criticize any bad behavior from “their side”.
But I see burning an innocents persons livelihood or killing an innocent person in a protest is worse than disrupting politicians at work during a protest.
Just my opinion

Here's the actual answer.
In a perfect world, I think the vast majority of people (at least older people who don't expect people and corporations to have to pick a political side on every topic) would like it if they shut up and did their actual jobs. But, you and I both know we don't live in that world. The one we live in right now is one where nearly all high profile figures and companies pander to the Left with zero worries of any real pushback. This is why when the rare right leaning person speaks up, people on the right tend to cheer it. I mean, the fact that this is news is only because his opinion is outside the accepted mainstream narrative. Other than those people here pointing out once again these people unable to keep their politics out of sports, the statement would have garnered ZERO interest, because there was nothing controversial about it, because it fit with the acceptable narrative.

What was the death toll from the BLM riots that lasted for months?

It isn't. But their broken record solution is.

Brian Sicknick is dead. More than a dozen police officers had serious injuries including broken bones. You’re really minimizing this.
But the reason why the hearings are happening is because of the time and location.
Burning down a Walgreens is not a national and federal issue.
However I fully agree with you that it is absurd that much of the mass media glossed over the property destruction and deaths from the Floyd protests and riots.
It shouldn’t be an invitation to do the same on Jan 6.
As we are seeing from things like the Chesa Boudin recall, the people who really lost quality of life in all of this are unfortunately working class and middle class people in major cities.

That's not at all what he said, so why do that?
His point was simple, while it would be better to have it ALL out of sports and entertainment, until then it's nice to hear at least SOME diversity of opinion when it comes to issues of the day...since it seems we're gonna be stuck having to hear them at all.

It’s really simple
How many innocent people died and how many buildings were destroyed during the BLM riots
And
How many innocent people died and how many buildings were destroyed during the capital riot
And the follow up to that is which one was met with more media outage

Well applauding Del Rio here whiel telling Kerr and Pop to shut up doesn't help anything.
If anything, it emboldens Pop and Kerr to speak out even more, and makes the people who inevitably tell them to keep politics out of sports even more toothless.
