Speaking of minimizing things. How ironic.
You’re just going to gloss over the fact they were trying to lock police into precincts and light them on fire? That’s hardly a Walgreens.

See this is the absurdity of Del Rio’s claim
If the US Capitol had been burned down, while all of Congress is present for the electoral college process, that would have been the biggest story of our lifetimes.
I have no take in this thread other than to say this post is stupid

25 people died from late May to November 2020 during the protests and riots.
Eta: I believe three of those were police.
5 people died on January 6 in DC.

But the reason why the hearings are happening is because of the time and location.
Is because Democrats think they are politically useful and the end goal is to legally prevent Trump from being a candidate in 2024.

Trying to burn down Federal Courthouse with federal employees inside night after night was though, and no one seemed to care...

I believe two people died of meth overdoses and there was one heart attack. Sicknick died of a stroke -- but, even the guys who sprayed pepper spray didn't get charged for murder. The one person murdered was an unarmed woman.
I have no problem with people going apeshit over what happened at the Capitol. But, you know damn well if it was BLM protesting Trump, it would have been called "mostly peaceful" and there would be marches for Ashli Babbitt.

Well, the truth is usually something to get cancelled for, so his is probably coming. You can't be honest in today's America.

Think of the balls it takes to come out and say the truth. Props to Jack.

Well applauding Del Rio here whiel telling Kerr and Pop to shut up doesn't help anything.
If anything, it emboldens Pop and Kerr to speak out even more, and makes the people who inevitably tell them to keep politics out of sports even more toothless.
I mean, is your suggestion to tell the tiny fraction who disagree with the narrative that never shuts up to sit down and be quiet in the hopes that the other side will stop? I'm not sure that helped so far.
This is sort of like being mad at the second guy to throw a punch after he's been hit over and over, and then blaming him for why the first guy may hit him back...after defending himself.

However I fully agree with you that it is absurd that much of the mass media glossed over the property destruction and deaths from the Floyd protests and riots.
If the media reported fairly we wouldn’t have this much polarization. But they don’t. And they overwhelmingly slant left.
So frick them and frick anyone on their side.

Wrong again. The reason the hearings are happening is because of political theatre and the fact that the Dems are just getting absolutely crucified in polls. There have been a lot bigger threats to national security, including the junkie son of the former Vice President running around the world picking up bags of cash because of who his dad is.
Why are those PRIME TIME congressional hearings? The dude is currently still selling million dollar paintings, which I’m sure isn’t corrupt at all.

It's exactly what he said, unless you truly believe that, if conservative views were being spewed mainly by coaches and athletes, he would champion someone that spouted off a liberal view point.

They shouldn't, so get mad at Del Rio just like you get mad at Pop and Kerr.
If you don't want politics in sports, the message shouldn't matter.
The difference to me is that talking heads and blue checks won't be calling for Pop and Kerr to lose their jobs no matter what they say. My issue is with them, not really Pop, Kerr, Del Rio, etc.
There's repercussions for views aligning with the right and there's none for views aligning with the left. I think the hypocrisy of it all is what makes people angry, but they end up lashing out at the wrong people.

I agree with you fully on this.
Eta: Amazing troll job by Greenwald though sending thoughts and prayers to people who overdosed and clearly leaving Sicknick’s name out of it.
