And to those so opposed to the hotel tax increase...

That's before the increase, after puts it at 14.28%.

Still not bad at all.

Will it be walkable from the strip?

They're raising the hotel tax less than 1%. How often do locals rent hotel rooms to be affected by this? Locals should be happy, they're about to have a very nice stadium with an NFL team, and they'll surely get a Super Bowl as soon as they're eligible.

A). The stadium is on the strip, just south of Mandalay Bay.

B). As it is, there already is a serious proposal to extend the Las Vegas monorail to Mandalay Bay.

Yep, that location is the one they have signed on for, but there is still another backup plan location as well.

They’ve signed a preliminary agreement for their top candidate — a 62-acre plot just west of Interstate 15 — but also cited a secondary, 100-acre option at the Bali Hai Golf Club between the interstate and the Las Vegas Strip.

Imagine going to Vegas on a Thursday, partying Thursday night, Friday night, Saturday night, and then going to see the Saints on Sunday hungover.

i became a raiders fan when they were still in LA so I won't be sad if they leave Oakland. Going to a Raiders game in Vegas would be something I'd start planning if this happens.

200 years from now when the decline of the USA is studied in schools there will be a chapter on things like public financing of sports stadiums sucking away resources that would be better spent elsewhere.

I just don't see how Vegas can support a NFL team consistently

I don't know much about the town, but how does their population stack up against other cities with NFL franchises?? Vegas can't have the population of places like LA, Miami, Detroit, etc
