Private Investments put up $1.2 billion and the public still has to shell out $750million!!!!! This shite is just absurd now...

These publicly funded stadiums are a crime. Especially considering the seat license fees and ticket costs.

If you take public tax $ to build a stadium, then you should do a lottery for 10,000 free season ticket packages for fans that make less than $100K a year.

No state income tax makes up for this tax for a stadium and NFL team to make Vegas truly americas playground

Not that big of a deal and everyone in town make more money because of it

The $750m will come from a hike in the hotel tax, so the local taxpayers will not bear the brunt of this, which is a plus.

Although, I do see the argument that these extra tax dollars could be used on far better things in this city, especially considering the state of our education system.

Public financing of private stadiums is ridiculous. There is overwhelming evidence that there are minimal economic gains. People should communicate this to politicians and throw out those who waste taxpayer funds on these projects.

I remember a few years ago when people were falling off their chairs at the $1 billion price tag for Jerry World.

Astrodome was $35 million. My computer says that $35 million is less than $300 in today's money. so 1.9 BILLIon seems high. I presume it includes condos and businesses.

They'll say they need to spend that much to generate money year round and "stay competitive", but I'd be curious to see what percent of overall team revenue that stadium revenue, beyond the givens (tickets, t-shirts, hot dogs), kicks in.

Not really a true statement. Include Super Bowl, hoops final four, college games, concerts, motocross/monster truck, etc. They'll put as much shite in there as physically possible, just like Jerry World.

The Super Bowl in Vegas would be the most epic of all time.

Sheldon Adelson is only worth $30 billion. You expect him to pick up the whole tab for a stadium? It's important for government to give a job creator like him money.

I didn't expect this to be a unanimous vote, there has been some opposition to the hotel tax increase for the 750m, albeit not much.

This is 100% happening.
