Ok, so Conor lost. Nobody -- nobody -- makes it through the a UFC grind unscathed. Although I think it's apparent that he needs to stick to the lower weight classes. 170 is too big for him.
I'm just happy for Tate. I hope she can beat Ronda and Holm in rematches and forge a legacy of her own. She's so much hotter than Ronda. She should be the one with the SI and modeling gigs.

100% agree with that post. Meisha is so much more likable than Ronda.

Is McGregor the male Rhonda Rousey.

Conor wins easy tonight so does holm. Then holm smokes roused again.
This shite is so funny. How many years has this been going on now?

Hype wise? Yes
Skill wise? No, he's better
He's also not scared go challenge himself, unlike Rousey.
I respect Conor more today than I did yesterday

His postfight interview was pretty admirable. It must be tough to be humbled on television by millions of people.
It takes a strong person with great character to come back from that.

Styles make fights and tonight absolutely proved that in both fights. Tate and Diaz were both nightmare match ups for Holm and Mcgregor

Conor has slick hands but Nate was just too big. Most of his first round shots and kicks hit air because Nate was out of range.

His range was a factor, my left hand was falling short. My wheel kicks missed and that did more to my energy than his.

This fight reminded me so much of when Roy Jones Jr went up to heavyweight and fought John Ruiz. , Roy had a huge speed advantage and had many knockouts at his weight class. However he knew that Ruiz had an iron chin. So Roy stayed elusive, used his speed and instead of trying to KO Ruiz he outpointed him to a unanimous decision
That would've been the correct formula for Conor to use.

Diaz is a 155er. I guess Dana has his built in excuse for McGoober, though

This can't be stated enough. Diaz can take a punch with the best of them, McGregor attempted way too many significant punches that didn't connect and when Diaz started eating the ones that did he started getting desperate.
I think Conor is skilled enough he could contend for the 155 belt down the road, he's just going to have to take a different approach than the swing until you put him down philosophy that he had last night. It was a learning experience for him.

Hhahahahaa. Exactly what happened.
I was totally picking and routing for the underdogs last night. It was a great night. I did a lot of jumping and screaming. Great main events.

I mean, I don't really give a frick if Conor won or lost. But, at least make sense.
155 is the smallest Diaz has fought at and routinely walks around at about 175. In fact, he started fighting at 170 because he complained about how hard making 155 way.
Meanwhile, to even fight at 155, Conor gets to fricking eat!!!

We get it, you do crossfit. We don't need 500 posts arguing about weight.

yea. He wasn't fighting a 170 lb class fighter, he was fighting a 155 pounder at 170. There is a difference. He wasn't fighting a bigger guy. Nate is just a tall fighter for the 155 lb class.
McGregor as a Lightweight class fighter (155) is going to be a contender and could possibly in time win the title, but he doesn't cake walk through that weight class. At 145 he can keep defending the title and probably be champ for a good while (maybe), Edgar would be a very tough fight. But can he continue to make weight at 145?

agreed they hyped to make it look like McGregor jumped two weight classes to have a built in excuse if he lost.
But Diaz has been fighting between 155 & 170 for awhile and he cuts to make 155. So he is just bigger than McGregor and it shows even McGregor saw it after.
He could not hurt Diaz.
I was very happy for Tate. I hope she can beat Rousey but I do not think she can. Rousey and Tate fight they same way and Rousey is better at that style.

Sigh.
This board is just hopeless.
First off. She'd never get him there.
Why?
Well. When she threw females, she often did it by wrapping her arms around them and locking her hands.
She wouldn't even get her hands around the man's chest. For example, Tate's chest measurement is 35". The man would be MINIMUM of 44". Good chance bigger.
Then, when she grabs the female's wrist with one hand as she sets up(very common), her fingers actually touch. If she did it to the man, her fingers wouldn't come CLOSE to touching. Typical female wrist measurement is about 2" smaller than male.
And, of course, he's going to have SUBSTANTIALLY greater physical strength to resist in the first place.
Jeebus. People are so fricking clueless.

Because of the millions of reps Ronda has the entire motion from toss/trip to leaning back and torquing your arm is so fast and efficient(maybe 5 seconds) there would be no resistance or struggle. And by the way a throw doesn't require locking hands nor having a super tight wrist grip.

yep. rousey always talked shite about cyborg but never even wanted to do catchweight at only 5 lbs over to give the fans what they wanted.
