That was worse than the Auburn kicker in that DiNardo vs. Tubberville game.

Saban.

It was the game postponed because of 9/11. Ended up being an SEC Semifinals weekend.

That's a hefty K. Is he the former PSU overweight K little cousin?

Kickers are the biggest bitches on the team. They do that at most games, even LSU. The band has their time but the kickers come out earlier and earlier and act like they have to get those kicks in the last 5 mins of the halftime show. There’s enough time to wait for the band to clear the field and then go warmup. The only person who really needs to get loose is the kicker who will do the second half kickoff. Any other kicker who does that is just being an entitled bitch.

It is a certainty that the kicker/punters are told to go out and get those kicks in at halftime and pre-game.

I know this as someone that played CFB, but this was how it was in HS as well.

Only other people I’ve seen bitch about this is, and I’m not kidding, the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader wackos that live in an alternate reality where people are in attendance solely to watch the cheer team.

Yeah but I'm sure they tell them to work around the band/cheerleaders not push your way through them.

I played CFB as well and our kickers never went out and got in the middle of the band. But it happens every Saturday in many stadiums. Granted not to the extreme of this dickhead but I’ve seen many times the kickers/punters launching balls while the band is still out there. It’s as if they are looking for a fight.
And I’m no defender of band figs but let them have their 15 mins

Maybe that was Tubberville vs Saban.
I remember the game two years previous to that when Auburn won and Tubberville and the players were smoking cigars on the field. Two years later LSU won and we must have had 25,000 cigars going in the 4th quarter. It was creating a fog.

Groupe was out at half time after missing those two kicks in the 1st half while Gramblings (I think it was Grambling) band was putting on a decent show.

He was steadily missing 40 yarders. I knew he was cooked then.

I don't think a lot of people realize that many times the kickers are instructed to do exactly what this guy did in the video.

I can remember playing ball, and the coach told the kickers to go out there and kick. He don't care who is out there. "Get your arse on the field and start warming up. I don't give a frick if the band is on the field. Either they're gonna move, or they get hit with a football"

My coaches did not tell them this.

They told them to get the kicks in, they didn’t care how.

Every coach I’ve been around doesn’t give a frick about the band or cheerleaders come game day, let alone game time at the stadium. They give sound clips or photo ops where they are shown supporting band/cheer at their competition stuff.

These field dwellers are only there because of the game, which is all that matters to the players, coach’s and majority of those in attendance involved.

It’s an HBCU game. At least half of the fanbase is there for the theatrics and not the game itself.

The player was Damon Duval, who was at Auburn from 99-2002. I remember the incident (and he was a douche), but don't remember what year it was exactly. It was the 99 game during Dinardo's last year that was the cigar game, which was the last time we had won at Tiger stadium till 2021 under Bryan Harsin of all people.
